Lunch Box
Useful idiot
Car: $2300
Trailer: $700
Car + Trailer: $2900
Well, I finally bought a small van and no longer need my little Mazda. This car has been fantastic (and problem free) for the past 10 years. I bought it new in 2006 and have put 190K trouble-free miles on it. The car has needed nothing, other than regular oil changes, tune-ups and replacement of tires, brake pads, fluids, etc. There is a ding on the left rear, right in front of the bumper, from when some tool bumped into it in a parking lot (and fled the scene). It has never been in an accident of any kind.
The good:
Solid running car with only one significant ding in the body
Great gas mileage
Still handles well
New brake pads, rotors and fluids this year
One owner car (my wife is the one on the title)
Tires still have plenty of life
Has a tow hitch and lighting installed (Curt)
I have a small three rail trailer that I would consider selling, or including in the deal if the price is right. It's a great trailer with full sized wheels, leaf spring suspension, and new tires.
The not-so-good:
The car has recently developed a little bit of a vibration in the 55-65 mph range. I figure it just needs an alignment. If the car doesn't sell, I will get an alignment done in a month or two (I'm rarely driving it these days).
The car runs like a champ, but seems to take a little bit of cranking most of the time before it starts. Might be a sign of potential fuel pump issues, or it could be the battery. The battery in the car is only a few years old, so it is likely that the fuel pump is starting to go.
Lastly, the window switch have been wonky lately. Specifically, the passenger window only works with the switch on the passenger side.
I haven't listed the car on CL yet, and would prefer to sell it to someone in the BARF family. If you are interested in the trailer, let me know.
I will get some better pics of the car soon and will update this post.
