What's the point of having the whole "car" lean? It just introduces more complicated suspension and more parts to break.

What's the point of having the whole "car" lean? It just introduces more complicated suspension and more parts to break.

With a narrow wheel-base, the car will tend to roll over when cornered aggressively, especially when in with high wends or on cambered roads. By leaning the car like a motorcycle, you can reduce or eliminate this problem.

Edit: It also allows you to take advantage of cornering forces provided by camber thrust.

Hrm, makes sense. For a little commuter car like that tho, I wouldn't have expected anyone to drive the hell out of them :laughing

Then again, back in the 80's, I don't think anyone expected that out of japanese compact cars either.
