I thought this might be an interesting way to help get some information about what happened over the weekend. :D

I'm curious about who it was that went down on the back straight during F50/clubman and how he may be doing. It's never good seeing an airlift.

Wasn't there one on Sunday as well?

What a turn out for NRS!!! Wasn't it 72 bikes on the grid? Lots of carnage, but HOLY CRAP! So many machines!

If you're talking about the guy who's bike split in half, Catalyst Reaction said that all he had was a broken ankle :dunno


Weekend went well IMO, flew through the races Sunday and some great people got great results!

The Final 600 race was amazing, what a battle between Joey, Tucker and Cameron :wow

There were 2 black/red flags for 2 different incidents at exit of T13 during F50/CHW/CMW. The first rider was Derek Strothard and he was airlifted. I have no info on the accident or his condition. After the restart, the 2nd stoppage was for me. I was exiting T13 just behind another rider when his bike lost power all of the sudden. I tried to squeeze around the outside without going into the grass but we made contact and I went high speed somersaulting. I have a foot/ankle injury that I'm going to get checked out today.

Derek Strothard is a good friend on mine and i'm sure many others too. I text'd him on Sunday to see how his racing weekend was going. Good news he text'd back..... bad news he mentioned he was air lifted out on Saturday. I don't think he will mind me mentioning his condition as I am sure people are just concerned.

He told me that he has a broken leg (pins installed) broken arm, ribs and liver trauma :( He mentioned he was in and out of multiple surgeries :(

I text'd him this morning and he responded right away that he is hanging in there :thumbup

Was it a single rider incident? Any details?

Thanks for the status update. I was not near that corner so I do not know what happened.

dude your bike ghost rode across track and i just barely missed it! :wow That was nuts! Glad your relatively ok. :thumbup

Yikes. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

A friend of mine watching from the back straight told me he was attempting to pass on the outside exiting 13 and he clipped one of the last hay bales which sent him into the wall. But that's just hear-say.

the hay bale in between T12 and T13?

Best to all injured riders. I hate seeing the red flags.

That's good news! I wasn't far behind him. I saw him hit the bails and his bike hit the wall with the resulting explosion of parts. I was able to dodge most of the parts as they came back across the track. :laughing Sooo glad it wasn't as bad as I was afraid it was.

I have GOT to get better at finding people in the pits! I would have swung by t say hello! Hell, I knew more or less where Nick was and still never could find him. :laughing

When I shot there on Sunday there was a bale at the very end of the line that was exploded. There was one bale about 8 in from the end that was messed up but I couldn't tell if it was involved or just roughly placed :dunno

I rode into 13 after seeing the wAvng yellow in 13 uphill . I rolled off And a nose piece flew over me. I was like WHOA . Holy shite . Dude was turning over and looked like he was about to get up .then it looked like the front end was sliding down the straights . I spent till the straights trying to figure out how that happened in that area . I know the big dogs barely slow down for that corner so i said shit he musta been cookin

My buddy Derek managed to text yesterday in between surgeries, that his lovely GSXR was smashed into many small pieces. Gotta love a racers mindset.....thinking of his bike when he is all broken and battered :thumbup

True racer .. Im so glad hes ok ... What a heart though right .. Good stuff there . We will see him next year and let him know solo says i hope hes ok and hang tough ..
