Very excited to get riding and learn as much as I can. I do the CMSP next month, so no bike yet. Have wanted to do this for years and looking forward to it all.

Great forum, thanks thanks for all the info and hope to meet some of you virtually and for real!

Also looking for advice on a good beginner bike for city riding and places where a clueless (for now) new rider can practice in the western boonies of SF.

Paging TwoWheelTramp to the white courtesy phone please. She learned to ride in SF and would have tons of helpful suggestions. :)

City College has a great parking lot where one of the CMSP courses holds their training. They don't use the entire parking lot. Even when I took my class I saw a guy on the other side of the parking lot working on braking

There is lots to learn. Barf has some great resources in 1Rider and other forums and a lot of great people to meet and gleam info from. Best wishes for a happy 2 wheel adventure.

I have to say that while motorcycles are great, the riders are the greatest. Thanks for the wonderfully warm welcome.

You have no idea! :)

If you have some free time this week come to Thee Parkside on Wednesday of this week @ 7. We have a meet each week and this time I planned it so we can check out the Cruise in, which is a moto meet up that Thee Parkside holds. It would be a great chance for you to check out and possibly sit on a ton of different bikes.
