New brakes and get a " groan" sound

Replaced pads with oem ( brembo brakes)
Didn't pull out pistons but cleaned/ lubed as much as I could
Seated pads with progressive stops nothing too hard until I felt the pads really bite
Great initial bite and power but if I hit them hard I get a not nice "groan" and not the power I want
Bike has 20k and the rotors could be suspect. But never did this with old pads
Did I not bed the pads right?

Thx!

It's likely the rotors still have material on them from the previuos pads and you'll need to do some hard braking to get the rotors bedded in with the new pad material.

Depends on so many things. Carbon pads are different matrix than sintered are different than organic.

If you put organic pads on a disc that has been used with carbon or sintered pads, they won't work worth shit, you have to clean off the rotor thoroughly. However if you put sintered or carbon on discs used with organic pads, you are fine.

I suggest you do what was suggested. Make some HARD multiple stops, get those puppies HOT. Let them cool down. Repeat.

What pad, exactly, did you put in, and what did it replace?

You gotta do some HARD braking to bed the pads in properly.

If they are EBC HH+ brakes no amount of HARD braking will get them to stop groaning. Been through this very thing a couple of times and the EBC folks just sent me out new pads (both occasions I performed the recommended bed in procedures).

I also did the light abrasive cleanup on the rotors prior to the install...no joy.

Brembo brakes. Replaced with oem brembo pads. Not sure on previous
Sounds like I need to scuff the discs and go for a good aggressive ride

Will do. Thx!

I used EBC HH pads on my zrx. worked just like OEM HH pads.

my car brakes groan LOUDLY after every time I wash the wheels. I do some hard stops, noise go away. now I have brake dust again. stupid I know. need to change to non oem compounds.

my bike brakes groan every time I ride in the rain.
