Need help with bike value

I'm looking to sell my 01 GSXR 600. I can't find any others for sale to compare that aren't totally roached out, flat black, stunted, etc with similar miles. Blue book is only 2400 and I see people asking 2500-3500 for some real turds. I'm the original owner, never down, very well maintained. New tires, chain and sprockets and a few tasteful mods. (PC3, TRE, some carbon bits) I think the milage is going to kill me on trying to sell it, it's at 39986. I have it listed for 3500 and just have people wanting to trade weed for it so far:smoking

Whatever that means
you may be able to sell for that price but you may have to wait for the right buyer.

have you looked for what you can get for 3500?

The blue book number is sad but true. It is a 16 year old bike after all.

Unless you find a buyer that is in love with that era and color scheme be content with anything in the $2500 range.

I helped a friend find a 06 with 15k last summer we paid $3800 1 owner who garaged it. look as nice as yours. Give a little bit of time as summer is just starting and people will be in the market soon for a sport bike.

Lol. Just to clarify it was 11k and i paid closer to 4600 and it was summer before last. OP, for you it's the high miles (40k) that makes your asking price high IMO. Sure if you had 15k 3500 probably reasonable. For you, i would say somewhere between 2600-3000 would be the most i'd pay.

Personally, I don't include upgrade bits as part of the sale price - I think it just makes it more attractive for potential buyers in comparison to a stock KBB price. While doing a simple search of GSXRs, I've found newer ones for around the same price.

As another has stated, there's a lot of variety when you look at bikes that can be had for 3-4k.

It's worth what someone will pay for it.

That said, I wouldn't even give you $2k.

Maybe the offer of MJ is a polite way of saying you're on drugs. :dunno

Documentation can also effect the price. If you showed me a bike with meticulous maintenance records, I would be more inclined to not negotiate the price then if you had some receipts for a couple of quarts of Quaker State oil and a valve check from Joe Shmoe's motorcycle repair shop.

Your bike shows nice for its age(plus)
It has mileage (minus)
KBB value it is what it is.
Added bits, never think for one minute you'll get what you put into it why?
See line one (age)
Set a price you can live with, knowing a bike is a depreciatd item.
There is an ass for every seat, someone will buy that bike its a pretty nice looking ride.:thumbup
Find your let go price or keep it.

Thanks for the compliments on the bike. It's not a must sell situation, so I'll just give it a little longer and just keep it. I was worried I was on the high side, but needed some other opinions to confirm. I'd rather just keep it instead of letting it go for 2400 bucks. I appreciate all of the input!

Can you please tell that to the dirt riders that thinks their shit is worth the same price they paid new. Ala crf50 for 1300 bucks for a 2000 year model

As long as you are patient, you might be able to get close to what you think the bike is worth. Generally, if I don't give two shits about when the bike sells, I will price it whatever I think it's worth and just wait for the right person to come along. I did that with my 93' 750 years ago. Sold it for quite a bit more than market value since it was a cool color scheme and very well sorted. That sucker I sold it to probably wrecked it before the end of summer...

If you put it on Craigslist.
And say it's never been to the track.
You might want to change your Avatar pic..
