When I was in my 20's, I had what was essentially a toaster just for Sausages and Hot Dogs.

It was great, it had slots for two sausages and two buns that all top leaded, you would depress the activator down in the heating coils would do their thing and it would all pop up ready to go.

One a whim today I ordered this thing.

Since I am working from home now, a device that allows me throw together a quick easy sandwich while on the phone managing meetings seems like a great idea.

It occurs to me that junk like this could be good C-Mas Gifts for others, so I thought it might be fun for folks to share such weird inexpensive appliances and similar kitchen kitsch that might inspire some gifts for friends and family.

OK, that actually looks pretty amazing. And for $40, how wrong can you go?

That is what I was thinking? They have a single Sando model for like $30.

Got an idiot single brother or hopeless child you are sending off to college who can't cook? He would probably love some shit like that for Christmas.

And it's dishwasher safe, my kinda lazy!

Thank you, sir, I now know what I'm getting myself for Yule. And now I'm off to track down one that does hot dogs. :teeth

You guys gotta learn how to use a blowtorch...

That's an as important life skill as learning to cook with aluminum foil on an engine manifold. :thumbup

Teach them to cook!

When you get past the motivating them to agree to learn part, please post your methodology. So far I've been entirely unsuccessful. :(

George Forman approved. :teeth

George is a cool dude. My mom and pop have his grill, love it and use it all the time. :party

I don't know if I have a methodology.

I enjoy cooking, I watch cooking 'shows' or actually youtube videos from cooks or random people cooking stuff.

Some of them are really good, and the food seems simple and tastes amazing.

So I'll show them stuff occasionally and I'll also find stuff they already like to eat and expand it or do it a little differently, or I'll challenge them to find something that they want to make and then we'll make it.

So that’s where egg McMuffins come from.

I actually had one of these a long time ago. Tried to buy a couple a few months back and got burned but I think I'm gonna try again somewhere else.

Not sure if you watched but he specifically included this product in that video and calls it worthless and says it makes bad sandwiches. :laughing

We shall see.

I absolutely did...and it's what made me think of that video in the first place. Indeed, I've seen the episode of Cutthroat Kitchen he was speaking of where it was given as a sabotage and it was hilariously sad for the sucker that got it. :laughing
