After work last night I drove to 9th and Lincoln in SF to pick up some kitty food for my ancient cat, Kermit. I left my phone in the car and came back to a new voicemail:
"This is the San Francisco Police Department. We're calling because we've located your stolen motorcycle. We'll need you to come pick it up or call us. If you aren't able to pick it up it will be going to impound. It's located at 8th and Kirkham, please call...da.da.da.da hang up"

I then realized that the voicemail JUST rang in, and I was four or five blocks away from where they said the bike is. So I drive on over. Six cop cars- two unmakred. I park, get out, and say "That was my bike until I sold it to insurance yesterday! There is a nasty looking white mid 40 year old guy moaning in handcuffs on the curb. I look over and ask the cops- "Did he crash or something"- they chuckled a bit and said "Well, sortof".

Turns out that they had some neighborhod complaints about a house on that street (*ahem* crackhouse), so they sent an uinmarked car out to check out the scene. My yellow 600rr was parked in front. They ran the plate (retarded thief never changed plates), realized it was hot, and the waited for someone to come out and get on the bike.

When the guy came out to leave on MY bike they told him to stop- which the guy did not do- so a samoan sized cop football-tackled him off my bike:rofl! Bike and dude fell on the right side, he tried to scramble away, so they kicked him in his helmeted dome. Apparently, he stopped fussing after that one. I gave the samoan-sized cop a hug for leaping on this shit-perp.

Turns out they found my moto communication system in another stolen vehicle at the scene, they guy is a parolle (sp?) for auto theft and will be visiting the state penn once he's out of the hospital for his "Crash injuries".

Douchebag. :party

I couldn't have HOPED for a better ending: I got paid out for the bike on Monday, I have a nicer one in my garage, and the douchy guy who stole it got to see stars.

Yay! SFPD- my new heroes!:thumbup
