Mr. Robot

Anyone watch the finale?

I don't think it totally warranted a postponement due to the VA news reporter shooting, but holy fuck that was graphic. This show is pretty raw, especially for a non-premium network.

I agree. Didn't really need the week long postponement but whatever people are sensitive about things.

Interesting ending. Awesome to see the complete global chaos caused. At my office we deal with Cryptolocker infections fairly regularly, so considering that this entire "hack" boiled down to a similar type of malware was pretty interesting. The damage that can be done is real, and if your backup and recovery plan isn't solid... you're fucked. Though real world I'd assume that systems are disparate and connected by data interfaces, so you'd have to attack a lot of different banking systems to cause a true global financial meltdown.

I sincerely hope they tone down the Elliot is a bi-polar, unstable, crazy person angle. Gets kind of tiresome after a while.

Awesome to end the season with SOOOO many loose ends. Lots to go into season 2 with! :thumbup

This show is stupid. You guys are cra cra for liking it.

I like Starbucks. I like my Honda. I like the value exchange of time/money for goods, especially after trying to grow my own food (especially coffee. Roasting your own is a PITA) and live semi off grid. I can't relate to Elliott's problems and childish rants. And Christian Slater was OK in Young Guns 2, Star Trek 4, and True Romance. That's it.

You forgot Gleaming the Cube, Heathers and Pump up the Volume. Which makes it clear to me your opinion is not one that concerns me.

Yea, I don't think I like those movies. I can't remember them well so I guess that is telling. I take it you're a Slater fan :twofinger

Black Mirror was great! I'll bet we agree on that. :p

Would you believe I made it to the last couple of episodes and lost interest.
I like Slater though, but lately he has been going for funny tv shows that nobody watched.

You probably stopped watching at just the right time. Check post #31 and then #37 in this thread. :laughing

I finished the season, and will watch next season. The show is entertaining enough, but it's definitely not the bestest show ever.

It seems that this show hit a divide with viewers as did Season 2 of True Detective. In my opinion, the key value of this show centers on the powerful themes and truths it explores...

Given the depth that it explores very powerful themes, it tends to break-off with some viewers. "I didn't sign up for all of this" "this is a joke and isn't possible or realistic" or simply the show doesn't resonate with them. I'm not sure how that gap can be bridged as it has very much to do w/ your world view and what you know to be possible and realistic.

Finished up the season last night and liked it. Of course I would, given my dislike for the banking system. Love to see what they do with the fight against bankers part in the next season. (Trying not to spoil it for those yet to watch!)

That two-part opener was really good. Third episode was pretty fun too. I dig Craig Robinson's character.

Binged watch the season 1 in the place. I love the show. And I like how they use backtrack, armitage, metasploit, ettercap and other geek stuff for the show: it's not like one of those show were hacking isn't realistic at all. The show/technicalities are real and that makes the plot line even stronger. I loved each episode.

Special mention for the soundtrack and the director: both music and image compositing are refreshing and interesting.

Love the show, but "Braindead" is far more fun to watch.

And the opening "previously" segment on that show is drop dead funny.
