Motul's new Chain Paste...

Busy Little Shop

Man behaving bikely...
I was picked to test Motul's new Chain Paste and after 400 miles I
believe it's the smartest product on the market and the right solution
everyone has been looking to *properly* lube their chain and sprockets
because it brushes a layer of white grease like from the factory that
clings with no flings...

Motul Chain Paste... squeeze the white grease from the tube and load
the brush...

Hold the loaded brush to the inside of the chain rollers to transfer
the white grease...

After a couple of spins of the chain it's lubed like from the
Factory...

to participate in their free trial offer... I'm sold...

Looks good. I've been using Renthal's heavy chain oil but you need a brush to put it on and its messy if spilled. Its Smart that they included one.
What type grease it that? Lithium?

Interesting... looks like a great non-messy way to lube a chain... I would definitely use that. The crap flinging out from my chain onto my bike annoys me. This would be a great alternative to the chain wax that I've been using.

I also got some of this Motul chain paste in the mail.

At first I liked the idea but when I used it the brush on application seemed a little uneven, not easy to get the lube into all the nooks and crannies like a spray mist chain lube would do.

Still it's an interesting product but after using it I kind of prefer spray application.

If it really doesn't fling that would be good.

I don't much care for spray because it's hard to aim, and I always get some on the tire. Lately I've just been using 90W gear oil and massaging it in with a disposable vinyl glove.

Also I'd like to see chain lube in a smaller travel size.

I like spray lube...I like the way it flows under the outer roller, getting inside there. I let the bike sit to let the carrier evaporate, and I clean of excess..there is no fling, when excess is cleaned off, before it could fling.

I have like 8 bottles of this stuff and I just throw it in my tank bags on trips. It is just a liquid bottle with a dropper type tip that you can also squeeze to spray a little stream of the stuff. Never gets on anything but the chain. Dries clean/clear waxy, and never flings off. Added bonus is that dirt wont stick to it.

thank you for posting this. I need to email him about some other things and will ask about this since I didn't get to see him GP weekend.

How are you cleaning off access? Just a rag and wipe down?

I'm interested in the paste and the DuPont squeeze bottle. At least one of my bikes has no good angle for spray.
