Hitting the brakes at 68mph down to 43mph without counter steering and committing to the turn can certainly stand up the bike going into the corner.

Better to fly off a cliff and down a hillside of big bushes vs rocks I suppose.

Wishing the rider a speedy recovery.

It doesn't even seem to me that 68 was too fast for that corner if he had just counter steered. But why say "I was only doin' like 40" in the interview when he knows he had the GoPro pointed right at the speedo?

Seemed to go from 65 or so to 45 or so in less than a second so brakes were applied just before hitting the dirt.

Lucky guy.

i just don't know why he stayed on the bike and not ditch it instead. i would have tried to jump off the bike before i got close to the cliff.
