Hi all,
Just wanted to share a pretty cool spot my daughter took me to Saturday for Father's day. The Talbott museum in Carmel is a pretty cool little place to go and get up close and personal to some really cool bikes. older BMW, Gileras, CZ, Hodaka, Bultacos, Waine Rainey's GP (along with some others) etc. It was 12.00 I think (she paid :) but it was a really cool place to spend an hour or two. We tried a smaller one in Pacific Grove but it was not open till noon.

Not as fast as I look.
I am very jealous of Monsieur Talbott. I believe I met him before he started his motorcycle museum. I will have to go see it. :thumbup

slow as shit. No really
Went there last year during WSBK and it is unreal! Met Talbott and his main(only) mechanic/magician who has worked on every bike in the place. If you go you have to try and meet Talbott and talk a bit with him, his passion for bikes is on another level.
Here is an example: he built a barn inside his museum that looks like an old beat up barn you might find in the back forty somewhere. Inside he has one or two of his projects ( that he wrenches on) and all the tools, signs, parts, oil cans and dirt you would find in a real barn like this. He went so far as to remove 2 of the small glass panes on the door so you can SMELL the inside! He said his hope is it makes you feel the way he did in his younger days finding and wrenching on bikes in a place like that.
If you are going to Laguna for more than a day, do not miss it.
Thank me later:thumbup

Definitely go up you haven't. Every bike in there has a story and it's awesome.

Their head resto/mechanic Bobby is a pretty chill dude too. Straight up motorcycles-in-the-blood kid of guy.

There were some very cool bikes there! I had a cb 450 just like this back in high school. 1980-82.

I had been wanting to go to the museum for years. Yesterday was a perfect day to visit. I was hoping to see a few more people ride their vintage Japanese bikes to the event, but it was a great day nonetheless.

I had a chance to chat with Robb and Bobby, who were both very nice. It sounds like they'll be holding more events in the future. :)

Did you ride/show one of your vintage Hondas?

I did. Mine was the not quite as nice CL77 with the Moto Melee and SOTT stickers on it. I rode in (lane splitting on 101 was not very enjoyable), but was lazy and got a ride w/ my friends on the way back. :) Did you have a bike there as well?

Glad y'all can scope it out. Theres also the Jameson museum in Pacific Grove, if you're in that area. Not as extensive but still pretty neat.

I did ride there, but I live relatively close and my bike is a 2017... way too new.
