Moto down in Sonoma this morning 09-24-15

Headed into work this morning and came across a SUV and a downed rider on Napa Rd just before getting into downtown Sonoma. It is a 45 MPH 2 lane road if you are not familiar. Unsure as to what had happened as I was the second person to stop, and the first person arrived seconds before I did. SUV had heavy damage to the drivers side door and drivers side passenger door. Bike was missing front wheel, forks bent etc.

Ran over to the bike killed ignition, then went over to assist rider. Riders helmet had came off. I do not know if the chin strap was not secured or if it was too big but the helmet was about 20 yards down the road. Rider was in shock and clearly was injured. Got him into recovery position, kept him talking/alert until first responders arrived and took over, headed in to work. Hoping the best for the rider.

Good for you for stopping and attending to the rider. Hope rider is okay and heals up fast.

Wow, reading your description I thought for sure the rider would be dead.

Good on you for stopping; hopefully the rider will survive what sounds like one hell of an impact.

It is really nice to see so many motorcyclists getting hit and some of them dying this week. Great entertainment that is even cheaper than subscribing to Netflix.
