Would you all agree that metermaids are the most hated workers out there?

Even when I see them writing legitimate tickets on cars that have expired meters, I always think, "What an asshole. You don't have anything better to do other than patrolling the streets in your 3 wheeled golf cart writing people 40 dollar tickets for being five minutes over?"

I mean, the garbage man's job may not be glamorous but at least we appreciate what he does.

People might say "fuck da po-leece" sometimes but they'd sure be happy when an LEO shows up after getting robbed.

Some lawyers might be morally-questionable money grubbing opportunists but if you're trying to get divorced from your horrible S/O and get all you can, who ya gonna call?

I might be speaking to the wrong crowd though. I know parking in SF/Bay can be horrendous and you might feel happy to see some parking space hogging ass clown get what he deserves. But in areas that don't have heavy parking issues, it's like... there's a bunch of open spaces still anyway. Can't you just look the other way? :dunno

Agreed. Fuck the parking meter bitches. I can't imagine how much you have to hate yourself to walk around all day and ruin people's day by handing out tickets.

I got a ticket on a SUNDAY in downtown Walnut Creek, right next to the 24 Hour Fitness. This is a fricking SUNDAY, it was a ghost town. Why the hell would they employ meter maids on a Sunday? Proof that it's all about revenue generation, not serving the citizenry.

It's called work ethic. Aside from marginal calls in their favor due to the location of where/how you position your vehicles, they're not the ones to cover the asses of people that can't properly manage their time at the meters.

Know the rules before you play the game.

Yeah, WC has turned the corner into being as big of assholes about parking as any big city. Congrats. Turns out they have been writing tickets in some garages because the sensors were set off by passing trucks. With any luck, some well-heeled suburbanite lawyer types will make them walk some of it back.

Biggest scandal was revealed last night on the teevee about BART stations in Oakland. I think it was lake Merritt and one other station who have red zones and no real signage and nail people for momentary stops. Really, really bad.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
i met a meter maid in SF who was terrified for his life...said he had people following him, calling him threatening his life, vandalize his car, knocked over his cbr600rr more than a few times in front of his house...

out of sympathy, i offered him a good price for his bike...:cool

You should have asked what his asking price was and then said you'll get back to him after you pay off a bunch of old parking tickets.

That's a good candidate. But when people I don't know get shafted by sneak salespeople, I don't feel much animosity towards them. Just shake my head at the dope that got duped.

When I see a parking ticket on a car in a pretty vacant parking area, I think "way to ruin someone's day, scrooge."

So, how much was it? Where were you parked? :D

:laughing

I haven't gotten one in over a year. I was in LA near a friend's apartment. Was plastered and so were my friends after a bar. Nobody sober enough to move my car so I left it.

I'm surprised as much as I visit SF, I've never gotten one there. SF's circulation and parking often confuses me. I wish there was a close enough BART station to Sac so I can just get into the city that way like I used to coming from Stockton and going to the Dublin station.

I understand why you'd vote them. 'Nobody' likes going to the dentist but at least they're making your mouf look all spiffy and such.

No, fuck any doctor trade but dentist most of all. At least they are prompt but you'd think after a hundred years of dental scientific discoveries, one could have made the equipment taste like unicorn buttholes instead of just buttholes.

Please explain your feelings if you got a parking ticket because your dentist took too long with your procedure.

i hate those dentists at those chain clinics...it's like a supercuts for teeth...

without an exam, they alredy know the cost to fix my teeth and only ask who my insurance is...

What I hate is some dudes at the auto parts store that act all high and mighty. You're getting me a part for a 2004 Ford from the stock room in back, not hand machining parts for the Space Shuttle . :twofinger

Then I was a dumbass who parked in the wrong lot. :laughing

Only got two parking tickets, both I deserved. I don't blame the guy writing the ticket on that one, at least they were doing their job.
