Any one got one I can borrow for a day in December? I was going to buy one for myself, but then realized I can't afford it at this time. WTF! I will treat it with love, and if anything is amiss afterward, I will replace it. No questions asked!

I'm a former professional auto tech by-the-way (yeah, certified and re-certified master, smog, blah, blah, blah!), but full-time student now. I only bring that up as a way to ensure that there won't be any issues. :laughing

Your certifications are great, but are you the guy who wipes his tools down before putting them away, or are you the guy who just tosses tools into random drawers dirty?

If you can come get it in SF or Pleasant Hill, sure.

A Toast to you! In 3 weeks I'll have nothing but time (Winter Break!), so a ride to save 100 bones aint that bad!

I would rather rent, so maybe a case of the finest beer of choice? I'll probably end up just ordering a set, but if I don't, thanks for the offer...:teeth

Eh...I only included the certification information as a way to express the kind of character and professionalism I posses (the biggest douches seem to be impressed by certs? Contrary to what you thought you read, mine are not current certifications!). It is implied, therefore, that yes, the tool would be well taken care of. Furthermore, and most importantly, I stated that if there was any issues at all, the tool would be replaced. I thought that was pretty clear? Reading comprehension is not in your wheel house apparently?

Was there too much conjecture? Stated, plainly as can be, I'm not the knuckle dragger type. :rolleyes

If you covet your $100 tool so much, then why reply to the stated need? :dunno That's a rhetorical question by-the -way; obviously power trippin'. FU!

I guess you didn't get the :teeth smily.

you know you can make something that'll work for under 20.00, right? you'll need a yardstick, some clear vinyl tubing a few zip ties & some 90w gear oil.

I have one you can use. Prefer you come by on your bike to my little shop and do it there. Would be the evening I'm pretty busy. Catch as catch can.

A better idea would be to stop by Re-Cycle in Santa Cruz on a Sunday afternoon. They have the old Motion Pro mercury one I had before I got the carbtune. Works just as well. Since your an experienced auto tech you could work for it by helping other folks who don't know how to work on their machines do so. Give them pointers and stuff. Help out while you do your thing. Just a Sunday afternoon helping folks out seems like a small price to pay. Mostly college students like yourself who can't afford tools to work on their bikes. Tell Liza I sent you.

The Re-Cycle idea sounds like a great option. Thanks for the input and I'll check into where they meet etc. :thumbup

On Laurel Street across from Louden Nelsen behind the Taqueria.... Business next to the Taqueria lets them use their parking lot on weekends. Bunch of good folks, lots of younger college type, working on bikes. Open Sundays. They have a Facebook page. Not your Harley crowd. Not for profit. Be nice bring something to donate if you can (duplicate wrenches, advice). If I didn't work so much, have kids on weekends, or be out doing stuff (just got back from LAB2V) you would find me there most Sundays.
