AC on top of first free practice for the 450's! There are probably at least 10 guys that can and will legitimately fight for podiums this year. At least five or more that aren't a stretch to call title contenders. Strap in, its going to be AWEsome tonight!

I really thought we wouldn't see a Ferrandis and Forkner battle as they would be opposite coasts... but looks like they are both West, or at least out in the Free Practice. :wow Should be fireworks between Star Yamaha and Pro Circuit Kawi. Justin Cooper also riding West for Star and Mcadoo for PC. Shocked to see Star and PC basically pyut their best riders head to head for slugfest in the West.

Will be a lot of story lines to follow in the 250's this year. Troy Lee Designs rebuilding with four young untested or proven kids. Will Jett Lawrence live up to his hype (I think he will eventually), Jmart returning (albeit East Coast), can Amart carry Suzuki's flag, and many many more.

Dry race this year.. :teeth

AC showed he is fast at the last race. Tomac now has a real challenger on the team.

I am hoping that either Tomac or Roczen win the whole deal. Both are due for different reasons and both are great riders. Roczen showed up in the press conference in a suit. :cool

and F Yeh! :party

Round 1 --- A1

Pretty awesome to having SX back on Saturday nights..! :banana

A new rising star and a shined up star made for a solid night of racing.
Along with a solid field.

I was impressed with Bam Bam... he was on the gas.
AC was impressive in his own right and could have won for sure, but small mistakes are easy to make in SX.

Webb showed his form even with the flu. Pretty strong getting on the podium after qualifying 15th fastest. The fast guys all ended up in the top 10 as they should.

A1 - 250's
Well.. shit happens and it happened to Forkner. Kid was fast and leading, but a mistake cost him the shot at the win. Good to see Cooper take the win. Ferrandis worked his way up and was fast all day to put both Yamaha's at the top. Forkner lost his third place by cutting the track after his mistake. That dropped him to 5th in the final standings.

I was wondering what they were gonna do to Forkner. Crazy that he cut the track like that.
Hopefully Bam Bam can keep it going this season. I thought he was going to punt AC after that mistake, looked like instinct almost got the better of him but he got back on it and lucked out when AC had a mistake of his own. Great race!

One of the best starts of the seasons I've seen in many years. 450s are stacked.... out of the 22 starting the final, maybe three not on a factory or factory supported teams? :wow While Bam Bam and AC had a small separation from the main chasing pack.. that pack included how many champions?

My RMFantasy picks were way off, but enjoyed the show regardless. Expected Zach to be further up, had no idea he and Webb were so ill.

Great to to see Justin Cooper get his first win. Last year Forkner would have gapped him, he held on and kept the pressure on him. With his consistent starts and new found extra gear, hoping he can put himself into the mix with Ferrandis and Forkner for the championship.

I was impressed with Webb. Sick as a dog and still puts it on the podium. The Dungy Method is strong with that one.
And, once again, the fastest guy in the series gets a crappy start and finishes too low. He should have learned his lesson by now.

:thumbup Agree. Eli can't afford sub par starts and expect to compete for the championship. While he didn't have a great start, he came around after lap one in 11th place and worked his way up to 7th. It's not like he was down in the first corner and last.

In seasons past, he or another top guy could make it through the pack with a bad start and challenge for the podium. I truly believe this year there are just too many guys on that level that it wont be possible. He isn't alone with alien speed this season.

But its only A1, so nothing can be really ascertained from the first race other than I think its going to be a great season! :party

I kinda felt bad for Brayton those last 4-5 minutes. He got mugged for a couple of positions. :laughing

St Louis this weekend. I will have to catch it on Sunday.

Y &T concert... :party

I am hoping to see Bam Bam stay strong. AC do his thing.
Tomac getting a good start and battling for the podium.

Webb getting healthy and doing the same.

And.. no major injuries for all riders! :angel
