Mobile mechanic/Electrical issue KTM 990

'07 KTM 990 electrical issue. Need someone to swing by and take a look.
On a ride back from Alice's/STP.
Dash/clocks died on me. Strangely had head lights blinkers and horn.
Towed back to SF. Thinking a bad connection in the harness/power supply.
Doesn't seem like a battery thing.
Anyone know who may be interested in looking at the wiring with a multi meter to help diagnose the issue?
In SF Dogpatch hood. 3rd and 22nd sts.
Be happy to pay reasonable fee of course. Just wanting to avoid towing to dealer and paying a ton of money for a simple fix.

Any suggestions helpful.:ride

Sugg: Give Moto Guild a call on Treasure Island and see if they have a mechanic available to help. It will cost you a lot less than the stealerships.

Towing back and forth to MG not in the plans. I'm friendly with MG just better if someone can do at my location. Also don't want to leave the bike there for days

ECU is behind headstock. look at there the wires come our and make a 90deg turn. it tends to chaffe against the frame.

there is another area around the side where wires come out to dash, lights, etc.

You just said dash and clocks died but had headlight and blinkers, and you got towed. You didn't specify, but I assume that means the engine died, too.

The easiest thing to start checking would be the right side switch housing on the handlebar -- the one with the kill switch in it. Assssuming your Adventure is similar to my Supermoto, when the ignition key is in the ON position and the kill switch is switched OFF, the engine and dash die but lights stay on.

Again, if your Adv is anything like my SM, the connection for that switch housing is made behind the headlight mask/fairing.

Just a suggestion of where to start, hope that helps.

So then it might not be a simple fix.

Please run the basic battery/charging system health checks and report back with your voltage number findings before going off the deep end with more invasive time/wallet wasting activities.

Yes, good suggestion.
Did find a pinch but was to a power let socket charger. Not the root cause tho

Thanks Robbie for getting my priorities in order. Just coming back from Onders. Multimeter and battery tender in hand....
Now to work!

Subscribed so that I'll see the final result when you finally get it sorted out. In case I run into the same issue on my 2008 one of these days.
