Mercedes SRS light reset

Rookie My A$$!
I know, it is not a mc, but at my age I get to scribble outside the lines.

When fixing the horn contacts in my 1998 E430 MBZ, I accidentally disconnected the airbag. I reconnected it, and have been driving around since, but the SRS light on the dash has never reset. The online forums say it will not reset on its own, and I must have someone reset it. Mercedes proprietary software, etc, bs, bs, blah blah .....

So, is there anyone here who can do this for me, so I do not need to pay the dealer megabucks for this? If so, I will make a donation to BARF in addition to whatever reasonable payment you may require.

Thanks guys!

[btw, "Guys" is a unisex term, or a no sex term, if that is your preference, or orientation.]

If you come around Martinez at all, I'm pretty sure my scan tool will reset it. You could also Google if performing a battery reset will make it go away.

Text from The MB Service Manual, Page 22.1.98

“if the malfunction is no longer recognized after a period of approx. 10 sec, the SRS malfunction indicator lamp goes out. However, if the DTC “Diagnostic trouble code” memory is full, i.e. 10 malfunctions have been recognized and stored, the SRS malfunction indicator lamp comes on continuously.”

Thus, once the SRS malfunction indicator lamp comes on continuously from the above condition, the SRS system must be reset by a tech using a scanner.
