Making the most of Covid-19

I was just thinking this would probably be the most ideal time to do an Iron Butt 1000 with minimal traffic on the roads.

Ditto.

Southern route, please. Did coast-to-coast and back early last summer. Grew tired of gear on hotel room heaters.

Too much lean angle...
Hwy 1, no traffic?

Been thinking about those quick rips to Big Sur.

Nope, all the normies have the same idea of going hiking for solitude, so there's traffic before dawn. If this traffic pattern keeps up for the year+ it's endemic, it will be the final nail in the coffin for me and I'll likely move out of the Bay Area.

With all the school closures coming, how can one plan for isolation?

A quick rip, an afternoon ride up & back for me.

This is exactly why there is no toilet paper. The virus is a respiratory problem. You may need Kleenex but being worried about your pooper is silly.

Well, if you were to sneeze while out getting groceries, everyone within 500 yards would shit themselves. So there’s that to consider.

exploring!
As I understand we're not to leave our respective counties. Besides, the ironbutt isn't a speed contest. It's easily done in 24 hours with an average speed of under 50mph.

Well, I have to ride my bike from Hayward to Berkeley to get some toilet paper. To help contain the spread of the virus, I will unselfishly take Redwood Rd and Grizzly Peak.
You're welcome.

This was posted before the sheltering policy but for fun, if one were to do the IBA there is less stress on getting minimal sleep for doing the 1000. More time to relax and check out the sites along the way. For fun, look up IBA 1000 videos and take note of how much time riders have to actually stop and take a breather.
