Lunch break fix: 599 Hornet to Mt. Diablo

Nothing fancy, apart from the jerky throttle response, wooden brakes and my dumb mistakes when down shifting - that's the chirping sound you hear about 3 times, twice going downhill.

It's 15min up until the paying post (I don't want to fork the $10.00 for this quick fix) than 15min down. Feels good. :thumbup

I'm testing a new recording device - since the GoPro sucks - , I'm trying a guitar recorder (Tascam GB-10) I have laying around with an SM58 mic inside a backpack. It's muffled, but it has good resolution and it's clear. Too bad I had to get the gain too high, because that's the SM58, it's a vocal mic. I don't have the 57 or any other, so it's a test.

Nice ride! So it was you. :)

I was on my Triumph 675 that waved to you at the bottom of the mountain when you showed up. And then at the gate again. That's me sitting on the rock at 4:12 and 4:25. :)

Ah, there you go! Nice bike!

We should meet up, I'm always up for a ride in the neighborhood. :thumbup

Absolutely! I am riding in the neighborhood too whenever I get some time, mostly on weekends. Would love to ride with people in the area.

I've put about 5k miles on my Hornet and still don't make as smooth gear changes as I want, try as I may. Jerky throttle response as well as the quick friction zone seem to be the quirks.

If you're interested my Hornet came with these handlebars http://www.suburban-machinery.com/honda_919.htm which weren't as comfy for me, too aggressive, not good for touring. They're just collecting dust at the mo, yours if you make a nice donation to BARF.
