Hi Guys

once my cbr600rr or grom is sold i like to pick up or get into another super moto.

my last one is an drz400sm and i honestly regret selling it.

but i like to try and ride different brand bike style etc...

budget is around 5k

im leaning toward the wr250x if i can find one for reasonble price or maybe a ktm..?

it will be a 100% street bike wheelie here and there jumping off some curb sides walk doing some dumb squid shit here and there while doing my local commute to work lol.

really want to try an ktm.

i like small nimble bike that i can toss around

I absolutely love my 2007 690sm to pieces.

Do you want to:
ride > 80mph
offroad
track

Sounds like a wr450, ktm 690 smc (or enduro), Husky sm610/630, another DRZ, or even an older KTM 625.

OP I'm in the same exact boat.
I've owned 2 DRZs before and might end up buying a 3rd.

I'd love the have an 07-09 690SMC but they're hard to find and I don't wanna risk wrecking it. I know the DRZ will be strong and parts are stupid easy to come by. Which is why I've decided to get another.

Another sumo I've thought about is the Husky 610SM.
Anyone here have any input or experience with these?

My height comes into play also. Being 5'7 it was annoying to get my feet down on the DRZ. I can't imagine being on a taller bike..

I’m on my third DRZ right now. They are just so darn fun. They are also relatively cheap, reliable, and easy to work on...so many mods available and tons of info...

I’ve gone all out with this one and it is a beast!...

It's not my fault...
The WR250X is such a fun bike...with a PC-V and exhaust, you can probably get up to 30hp. It feels like a bicycle in tight corners...but sooner or later, you'll want something with more grunt, imo.

I'm selling my 2014 DRZ for $5K. Only 9600 miles + nice mods. I'm in San Diego though.

DRZ's are heavy and slow, but you just cant go wrong with one... I loved mine, I always wanted a BETA 500 RS in SuperMoto trim, but they are expensive and require frequent maintenance just like the KTM and Husky's...

I know you said you'd like to get into something different than another DRZ. But if you change your mind let me know. I'm selling mine and I'm just a few miles up the 880 from you. It's in your price range too.

i saw your bike on craigslist! great looking bike!

the reason i want to stay away from drz is because i feel like their look is soo outdated!! when i parked my drz next to friends ktm or husky... it make my bike look like its from the 90's lol.

other wise i love everything about it.

im search for a wr250x still, will wait around! good luck with your sale

Thanks!

Yah, you have a point. If I was keeping it my next mod would have been swapping the stock rectangle mirrors for pointy Aprilia mirrors, and deleting the fender pouch. But otherwise, it's always going to be a heavy dual sport. Can't deny that.

Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is fun as hell!!!!! Just saying :x
However the KTM 690 looks mean and I almost bought one but I’m not sure how my Mille would take to sitting next to a KTM so I bought another Aprilia :thumbup
