another sweet weekend of riding for me, but this week was the first time i split traffic straight for about half an hour. on my way up from castro valley to davis with a friend on friday afternoon, we took 680 north to hit 80. before the toll plaza on 680, there was so much traffic. stop and go for miles and miles and the lanes were very narrow. pretty crazy.. fun though.

what's the longest that youve split traffic?

Ride in LA. I split 91 sb from the 71 merge to 15 sb. Then I split 15 for a loooong way. I got a really funny look from some guy in a convertible when I shouted profanity at a hummer that was in my way.
Stupid hummers.

I think that when leaving for LA after work a couple times and having to lane split from the sf side of the bay bridge all the way to 5 was the longest straight. And once you pass pleasanton it's all SUV's till 5

from san diego to Oakland.
OK I didn't split the whole way but between TCs baking up traffic and LA and more accidents on I5 it felt like i must of split a 100 miles.

and I would split 500 miles and I would split 500 hundred more just to be the man that split a thousand miles to break down at your door

Coming back up from Leguna Seca after the Petit LeMan several years ago there had also been a big art festival, I split lanes for over 30 miles along 101.

From Inglewood all the way through past Santa Monica to 101 on the 405 down south. I hate that road with a passion.

I used to be a motorcycle messenger in London UK:loco so I was splitting all day every day. Fastest I ever did it was about 120mph but I had just done about 50miles of Friday night rush hour in the rain and the traffic had started to clear........................:confused Why do they call it "rush" hour?

The worst I've had to do was coming back from Laguna Seca one year on my bike. After that year I decided it wasn't worth it to show up to the races :)

After 4pm on a Friday I-5 heading to Sac 30+ miles of lane splitting. I was happy and tired at the same time once I was through it all.

A couple of years ago, I rode up to Reno for Street Vibrations. On the way home,I had to split from about two miles out of Reno, all the way to Sac. It was my first time really splitting lanes. The worst part was getting stuck next to a truck that was transporting bees. it still took over two and a half hours with the lane splitting to get to Sac.

I've split from Hollywood to Long Beach, the dual HOV lanes make it a lot easier. Now days I split about half the way on my daily commute from SF to SJ every day.
