Why would anyone want to be a LEO today is beyond me. With all the public hating what they do, all the crappy people they have to deal with, long hours, constantly having to show up for court, etc., no thanks. I'd rather leave it to those who are willing to subject themselves to that kind of punishment.

Luckily there are people who want to be a LEO today so that you don't have to! Thank them instead of hating on them!

I was disqualified from my SFPD application, I was told i'd have to wait 2 years before applying again. Does that only apply to their department or All leo departments?

That only applies to their department. But depending why you were disqualified, that issue could affect applications with other departments. If it was something in your background it would also need to be disclosed to other agencies. If you were "disqualified" for simply failing an entry level written/physical agility/oral board, then it shouldn't affect applications anywhere else.

Those are the drawbacks. The positives outweigh the negatives by a landslide.

For Llivermore, is there any of the Written tests coming up before the 18th? Also, what about any WTSB(?pt test) comin up?

I took my written test with CHP but that was back in Jan. and livermore wants scores from April or later

I'd be all over this except I still owe Uncle Sam 3 years of active federal service.. and by then, I'll be 13 years in.. might as well go another 7 and retire :laughing

I had an interview/PT test set up with the VCSD and decided to pass on it. I don't think I'd have the patients to deal with the crap you guys do on a day to day. It's the main reasons why when stopped I try and be as pleasant as possible. You guys certainly have a tough job.

I must have missed the part where I was hating in my post.

Just referring to that specific part. Just stating that it's good that people want to do this job so you don't have to. That is all.
