I liked the original animated one way better:x

Not sure if this was better or worst, but I did not get that experience that I got when I was like 10, yes I ain't a kid no more so that could be why.

Also Mufasa looked like a real fn lion and Simba looked cgi

Disney is gready AF. They know they can print money diluting the classics with their built in audience.

I don't disagree with this at all. It's funny. Reviewers can universally hate a movie, yet if it's Disney for kids, people flock to theaters to see it... good, bad, or whatever. I suppose John Carter might have been an exception, but I'm probably one of two or three people that actually liked that movie. :laughing

Fear me!
The only must-see for us is Mulan, because live-action kung fu! :) The only other one we've seen is Beauty and the Beast, which was pretty cool.

Lol. I’m at Disneyland right now. Can’t fault a large corporation for trying to keep their existing IPs relevant for as long as possible so they can continue to make profit from them.

I’m a grown ass man with no kids and actually never saw the original Lion King, so I doubt I’ll ever see this new one. But I did wait for over an hour in line to go on the new Millennium Falcon ride and paid $5.50 for a bottle of Coke because it’s shaped like a thermal detonator. Because, see the first paragraph.

Its Dethklok!
I like to keep up to date on new movies coming out and not only disney but all of hollywood is doing reboots and remakes. It drives me fucking nuts because most of these movies don't deserve a second chance. I am soo tired of comic book movies that I long for a drama or a good period piece. My god, did I just type that?

I watched the Alice and wonderland remakes, the jungle book, and Beauty and the Beast (the later two on a plane). Just based on casting they seem to go for star power a lot more than people who fit the part well and can sing. The reason the originals became timeless classics was usually because the casting was focused on singing ability over star power, basically until the original Aladdin and Shrek.

Anyway, I doubt these movies will see the lasting power the originals did, but don't have a particular problem with them.

Reboots, re-dos, reiteration will always happen. It's part of the cyclical nature of art, production and economics and the means to bridge generational divides.

Go to the Ronto Roaster and have a Ronto Wrap! Outstanding. Oh, and have a Blue Milk. Those were GOOD! The Cantina was awesome too. Our waiter told us we had to pay him credits before we'd get served. We told him we were short on credits, but had just flown to the outpost in the freighter above Docking Bay 7. Told him we had ten crates of Death Sticks we were looking to unload. Asked him if he wanted any trade drinks for Death Sticks. :rofl

None of the reboots have been better than the originals. I'll probably watch the new Lion King eventually on Netflix or whatever, but the new one is just a gimmick. They had such a hardon for making everything photo realistic that they didn't let the animals emote. Pass.

We got in the Cantina. Crazy that reservations dry up for the day before most people are even in the park.

Wife got interrogated by a stormtrooper outside while Kyle Ren was berating other guests. Hilarious.

Don't like any of these remakes but I'm aware I'm not the target audience so I don't really care.

Shrek was DreamWorks, not Disney. :twofinger

People are selling them on eBay for at least double. I would say that’s stupid, but last month I spent twenty US dollars for two cans of “new” Coke for the Stranger Things cross promotion.

Probably worth the $11 on eBay since it doesn’t involve a trip to Anaheim and another $100 to enter the park.

Ive never watched any release of the Lion King or Aladdin or Beauty and the Beast but I thought Disneyland was cool the few times I've visited.
