....in writing a paper! :p

I'm writing for my class about different semesters at SJSU affecting motorcycle parking...I'm wondering if any SJPD, CHP, UPD, or whatnot can help me answer these questions....:

Which semester do you see a rise in motorcycles?

During that semester, is there a rise in parking tickets for motorcycles?

and thats it....easy I know but when I called UPD, they had someone who didn't sound too happy answer my questions (call back on Monday at 7ish AM)

so....help? :teeth

I once knew someone who worked for parking enforcement for UPD...the motorcycle parking on the streets where all the students park is city property, and not citable by SJSU parking enforcement, UPD Police Officers can technically cite them, but they always left it for SJ City Parking compliance to handle those.

I personally, I mean, my friend never cited motorcycles parked in the parking garages because they parked in the corners of the garage, in what are now legal parking spots for them.

Out of the tickets given in a day, there were probably a good 0% given to motorcycles for violations, and not because they were hooked up, but because they very rarely parked on actual SJSU property, or committed a parking violation if they did.

Busy time is what you already see and know. Spots fill up towards summer, not as much during winter. But like I said above, this doesn't really affect number of motorcycle parking citations anyway.

Hope this helps,

:(

You want to contact the people that deal with parking enforcement as their primary job. Contact UPD parking enforcement. Acutally, if you go to UPD during business hours, that front window is staffed by Traffic & Parking people....not the enforcement officers though.

I would not bother calling San Jose PD. Contact San Jose Parking Enforcement. It is a separate department from the PD.
