Lake Berryessa Fire

Took this screen shot of a fire lookout web cam looking west across the northern end of Lake Berryessa and Berryessa Knoxville road north of the upper bridge. On the web cam's real time image you can select a time lapse starting up to 12 hours earlier. This shot is from just after midnight. Looks like the fire burned (is still burning) down to the water's edge, not sure how far south it has gone. Hopefully Spanish Flat area is OK. Man this is grim, more and more beautiful riding areas are turning ugly.

The one above appears to be the Gamble Fire, as of 8:30 this morning it was 5,000 acres, 0% containment.

More ugly, here's a different web cam look at the lake Hennessey fire just now. It was 2,700 acres as of 8:15 this morning-

That's east side of the lake, so spanish flats is fine for now.

The Hennessy fire is about to take out Poser's corner though, and a few other areas up there.

I just did laps Sunday as I was out there for a photoshoot.

Got a couple friends I'm trying to get a hold of to see if they need help, not that I can do anything from this side of the evac orders.
I'm fucking sick right now.

Nope, the night shot is looking west across the lake to the west side. Camera tower is on the east side and was aimed west at that time.

You're right, got my perspective wrong.

Watching live video now of the area. See stuff still in that area that looks unburned so hoping s-flats is ok for now. there is a lot of pink being laid down.

Copy/pasted from the other fire thread:

Fuck 2020. My sister's house burned down last night and my mom is about to be evacuated. Vacaville is about to be surrounded by a wall of fire.

EDIT: Family is sorted - I'm in a holding pattern. For those in the vacaville/fairfield/napa area, I have my truck ready to roll from Vallejo area. If anyone needs help getting out, PM me so I get an email notification. I also have a generator fueled up and ready if needed. Will also offer up my cargo trailer if there's something big/valuable that needs to be moved. I have a spare room if anyone is displaced and needs somewhere to stay, too.

Jesus, sorry to hear all that, man.

My friends who lost their home in 2017 are back in their home but they do, indeed, have PTSD, Lois in particular.

She never got her energy back.

She was a world class cook/professional caterer and while we did all the cooking while they were here for 2 months she hasn't made anything "special" since the fires.

Zero motivation.

With the help of friends, as they lacked motivation, not money, we furnished the living room in their new home with very nice, but used, furniture and A/V components.

But for that I fear they'd be sitting on the floor.

But post fire depression if a real thing and can be very very long lasting.

I try and see them weekly to keep their spirits up and see if there is anything I can do to help.

My lady's aunt and uncle have a place a mile or two down 128 from Turtle Rock @ Knoxville, they've rebuilt once already.
When he got the mandatory evac notice yesterday afternoon he took a pic as he was leaving and it was nothing but black smoke behind him.

Can't find anything definitive but they may have lost their house.

The not knowing is brutal.

Fingers crossed for a miracle as they did happen in 2017 on Franz Valley Road where my friends live. The lost their house but some neighbors did not close by.

This map is slow to respond but you can zoom in to some extent.

I believe it. I was fine until the yellow haze rolled in and then way too many memories came back.

Woke up yesterday to the smoke smell inside the house, freaked out.

Yeah, it's hit or miss in those little canyons. He's diligent about clearing a defensible space so hopefully it helps.

They've decided this might be their last year at that house either way.

Thanks for that link, Geoff.

The edge of the orange field (presumably the burned/burning areas) is a few hundreds yards past their property.
They're the first one on the east side of 128, just south of Turtle Rock.
I'm guessing they lost the house.

Don't give up yet. The vagrancies of wild land fire is substantial.

If you're even potentially in the path of the fire, get prepared NOW. You don't need to leave but to be ready to. My sister had no warning, unfortunately. They lost everything. Se was able to go see if anything was left this morning. Nothing... She's in absolute shock and i'm not even sure how to properly begin to help her after seeing what's left....
