hey Dave sorry to hear about the day to day struggles. Sounds like you had it worse than me but I hope the wifey stays patient and helps through your recovery!!

Ditto man. Really sorry to hear. I know my wife got a bit sick of me being so needy and that is really frusrating. Actually for both right?

I actually fear being really screwed up and having to count on anyone for care. Think I would be better off with a permanent time out. Sad to say and harder to make happen given that situation.

Hoping for the best for you Dave.

Yeah the hardest part is relying on people or asking for help. I'm by nature a very independent person so it's been a little weird at first. Thanks again!

Going in to see the dr. today to have the staples removed and get a cast. Upon first glance the damage is primarily cosmetic, but a closer look might reveal more. Cracked fairing, scraps on the tank and wheels, broken mirrors, and scratched up handlebars.

:laughing At first I thought your "cosmetic damage" was to you. Stay sane, heal fast! :thumbup

there was cosmetic damage to me! My ankle modeling days are over!!:cry
But can you still wear high heels? :laughing
(I still could after my first broken fibula healed, and I'm reeeeally hoping I'll be able to again after this second one does. Told the PT that was a priority for me and he looked a little surprised- I guess I don't look like "that sort of girl". :angel )
Good luck!

Bane of your Existence!
This tread really hits a nerve with me...

I got really jacked up commuting to work in march, docs put me in a coma for a month, most of which I had tubes down my throat in the ICU.

I remember waking up and being unable to tear toilet paper with my one arm.
....But that was the least of the challenges I faced...

Fast forward just over 7 months:
My left arm is way stronger, surely more then its atrophied self 5/6 months ago!
Left hand is still operating like a pair of pliars, and just as clumsy!
Right arm is still montionless, it hurts like hell! and does me zero good.

I've spent most of my time working bon my websites... the latest and yet to launch...
www.LivingWithOneArm.com

going to be a simple blog, mostly a wiki for those living with 1 arm, all the tips/tricks I've been forced to figure out.... like the triple dose of belt conditioner and thread lock for my suicide knob.... makes driving the cage.... better
or my wire strippers to turn on the shower :|
