now replace all your case fans with the really slow panaflo's and you'll be all set. I'll never go back.

I only have a total of 3 case fans. 2 120mm and 1 80mm. Also have a Enermax PS w/2 fans. However these all run so quiet that I have to do a double check to see if it the thing is even on :laughing

Link to my case.

There is also a great utility called Speedfan that lets you set your rpms based on cpu/system temp.

If your motherboard is supported this is a must-have.

I also have an 850xtpe and the stock fan changes its rpm's based on temp, so its quiet most of the time.

+1 on bigger fans, 120mm are generally nice and quiet.

vibration isolaters also help a bunch, gel grommets you use when you mount any fan or hard drive.

OH there is also this great trick you can do for fans that run off the big 4pin molex (same plug that powers a harddrive for instance)

You can swap some wires around so the plug goes from 12v to 7v, and the fans rpms are reduced. Its an advanced trick, you open yourself up to risk if you forget and plug it into the wrong unit, I dont know what would happen if you tried running an hd or dvd with the wrong voltages. couldn't be good. I gave mine big warning labels.

using rubber washers or gaskets on the mounting screws on you case fans will help reduce noise as well.

How do you like that case? I was looking at it last night at Fry's. Any complaints with it?

The only problem I see is not enought air flow into the main body of the case. There is only 1 80mm fan that supplies air for the case. The 120's only supply air for the cpu and memory.

Sweet! I need to get better fans for my machine, but I also need to get in there and dust it out.

There aren't any real BTX cases out yet, only cases that are similar to the BTX format, but still use ATX motherboards.
