Jacket repair

I bought this nice jacket, then went to Pakistan for 2 weeks.

I fell off a bike at about 5mph and got a small hole in the elbow. I hate to throw away the jacket for such a small hole.

I pinged Scorpion and asked if they have patches or anything - no dice.

So I need recommendations for how to patch the hole. It's like 2 inches and ragged - I probably wore it way rather than it being a simple tear, hence I think it needs a patch.

Two things:
1) A moto jacket that went to Pakistan and have the scars to prove it should be priceless.
2) A place like Narain's Outdoor Sewing & Fbrc in Berkeley will probably be able to patch it up with the right material and good stitching.

Are we having fun yet?
When I accidentally melted thru my pant leg on my DRZ's hot exhaust header, I had a seamstress from a dry cleaner patch up the hole with a piece of sturdy looking nylon fabric from an older pair of overpants. I could've used something cut out from an old backpack or leather jacket, etc.

The first time I went down on my Dainese leathers, Helimot patched the hole with a really cool Lucky Strike patch and covered it with a piece of plastic to keep the dirt off the patch. Did it while I waited in his first little shop he had.

Man I miss that guy.

All great ideas.

On a whim I did a web search. This is what Amazon has ... seems well worth $6.27 to try it out :)

Pressure sensitive adhesive tape is a temporary fix - the adhesive will eventually soften and the tape will peel off.

Heat activated patch (iron on) material is a step up but will also eventually peel off.

Sewing on a patch with thread is the best. For a minor tear I bet any seamstress or alteration place could fix it. I woulda had it fixed in Pakistan hiring skilled and affordable labor :afm199

Johnson's Leather in SF has been keeping my WW2 (dad's) flight jacket alive for decades now, as well as a few other garments.

They've seen it all!
