damn that's the pyramid looking one. hard to believe they'd close that one; that's a crazy busy area of town. I wonder what they'll repurpose it into.

They should fold everything back into the original Sunnyvale store, if the building is still there.

Arizona has Fry's Grocery stores with the same logo. Their in-store bbq chicken is damn good and cheap.

Yep, I just saw the news banner this morning. Sounds like they’re blaming Covid and the Internet competition.

Well shit. I did my part. Bought 2K worth of stuff from them over the last month.

Really sucks.

My last visit to the one in Concord was before Covid, and it seemed like only a matter of time. It's a little surprising its taken this long.

Yeah, I’m not buying the COVID blame either. You can’t expect a business to survive when all the shelves are empty in the first place. When your stores are making news, because of the emptiness of them, you are destined to close. All the stores had the “dying throws” feel to them about a year before Covid was even a word.

Yeh, OP started this thread 3 months before COVID-19 even hit Wuhan. It wasn't COVID that sank Fry's that is for sure.

Can we get a Microcenter up in the Bay Area? JFC

We have one down here, in Tustin.

It sole claim to fame is that it's next to a freeway. It's been there forever, I haven't been there in some time. But I bought my original Mac Pro there. They used to have a really good book selection, but that's been long gone.

I did always prefer it to Frys.
