so i'm refreshing the suspension on my 89 integra. i've got all the struts (kyb gr2's) end links, assorted bushings for the control arm and sway bar. however theres 1 big problem......springs. the stock springs are discontinued, all the aftermarket sprints are lowering, which i don't want. my question is 1.)anybody know a acura dealer that keeps NOS around?? 2.) if i get these springs http://www.alamomotorsports.com/STSprings/sus_tech_acura.htm which only drop it a inch can i then add these http://www2.partstrain.com/store/?N...94+1562+4294965608&y=1989&mk=Acura&md=Integra to make up the height?

why you so worried if its lowered just an inch? just curious...

i have a feeling those springs would ride like shit...go with a brand with a history behind them.

It's been a while but some of the aftermarket spring/shock combos even when lower ride hell of a lot better than the stock setup. I forgot the springrates and what not but stuff like the adjustable progressive spring rate ground controls could bring you back to the stock height and still serve you with very good street ridable suspension.

same ole' same ole.

cause i live in sf and the streets suck, i drive the car like a truck and its often loaded with tools. lowering just isn't the way to go. thats why i was thinking about adding those spacers.

if i had a 2nd gen integra (90~94) that'd be no problem. however choices are very limited for the 1st gens (86~89)

are the springs actually done?

how bout ground control coilovers? use stock inserts with a special adapter dealio and aftermarket springs. install, adjust height up to 4x4 look
yeah the springs are done. when i load the car with the tools it raises up the front and takes weight off the front wheels, car skids easier. didn't do it when i 1st got the car. was thinking about the coil overs, but had them on my corolla and the ride was really bouncy, but i'm still thinking about them. thanks for the link i might have to call them and set what kind of spring rates and lengths i can get directly from them.

It's inconceivable!
I recall the Integras of that time shared some components with the Honda Civic. You might want to look into that.

But if your stock springs aren't shot, I'd probably go ahead and still use them. I wouldn't want to use lowering springs on the KTB GR-2's, as they are just a stock replacement damper.

those spacer things are just gonna create a bouncy ass ricer ride. worse case scenario you can find one of those u-pull it junkyards?

Can't you use the same Springs from the Same Year Accord?

They have basically the same chassis and suspension if I recall right.

I can ask my honda Guru if needs be.

Please let me know.

Also try http://www.g1teg.org/.

Some of the members might have the parts you need.

already been to 3.....all the 1st gen integras they had, had way more miles on them than mine. to bad i can't find a 1st gen with 30k on it that was totaled in a front end crash.

no the 1st gen integra has torsion bar in the front and spring strut in the back. none of the civic, legend, prelude, camry, accords i've look @ had the same springs as mine in the back. sucks.

that integra site is pretty good for info though, but everyone there just wants to lower/rice out their cars, which is the opposite of what i'm looking to do.

You say "cage", I say "fast tool box"

:laughing thats pretty much what i told the sales guy @ ground control. hes going to look around and see if they can make some kind of custom coil-over kit that would work for my needs :thumbup

ok try this if you want stock springs check out TEIN they have a spring selector guide where you can chose your lb/in. rate over diameter and height un sprung you can use math to figure out your stock lb/in rates
