Hi All!

We've just paid Budman our money and Insurrection is pleased to be a new Bay Area Rider's Forum Sponsor! It's been a while since we've been here and a lot is new at Insurrection! On top of our already great Vanson, NJK, and Alpinestars race suit offerings, Insurrection is the new United States Importer of Vircos and Rewin Race Suits!

AdvertismentforRoadRacingWorld1_zpsa6a0f1ab.jpg

Vircos and Rewin are two of the most exciting brands of race suits that Italy has to offer. Our Vircos and Rewin race suits are 100% made in Italy, and even the CE-approved armor is made in Italy!

Our Vircos and Rewin race suits are developed for each rider through the use of approximately 26 measurements and Computer Assisted Design (CAD), so we're sure to get the perfect fit for our customers. Customers can choose cowhide or kangaroo and everyone gets their own custom design, colors, sponsor patches, name, race number, THE WORKS!

To give you an idea of how the suits actually come through, I've attached a photo of our kangaroo display suit (this was a suit designed for me...I hope one day to be fast enough to wear it!)...

Both Vircos and Rewin offer air bag systems that are 100% operational AND available to the public! Both systems are housed inside the suit (the suits stretch around them when they're deployed in a crash) and are rechargeable without the need for the suit to be shipped back to Italy...we replace the air system in our shop or teach you how to replace the air bag yourself.

Our Vircos and Rewin race suit customers receive an art proof before their race suit goes into production so that riders can be sure that the custom design is exactly to their liking.

We'll be posting up images as we have time, but we do hope to talk to some of you about these new race suits...they're absolutely amazing!

That's great. You guys were an awesome vendor when you were in the area. Glad you are still serving the Bay from a distance.

So I have to ask, why did you choose Vircos over Rewin? I assume you had your pick of the litter.

Hi Med23,

Thanks for the welcome and the kind words!

We have a Rewin display suit that was made for me as well. We wanted to have Vircos and Rewin display suits available in the sizes of our staff to show customers how perfect the fits come out! Because we fit each custom suit to the rider's body using Computer Assisted Design (CAD), the suits are a 1-to-1 match to ALL the dimensions of the rider's body. I'll post up photos of our Rewin display suits once I have some time to photograph them.

Here's a photo that shows how each panel of both Vircos and Rewin suits are digitally size graded, precise to the rider's body measurements.

One really attractive feature about the Vircos suits is that all Cowhide suits, including the leather, are EN 13595 certified. What this means is that the entire suit (thread, leather, armor, construction, etc.) has been submitted and certified to meet or exceed impact, abrasion, puncture, and tear CE Standards. Kangaroo doesn't (as of yet) have a EN 13595 certification (in Italy there isn't kangaroo certification), but Vircos does test its kangaroo to be sure that it meets standards.

Regarding the Rewin suits, they're a bit more expensive than Vircos, but they're a great option for riders here in the United States!

Yes thes guys are awesome people . Carrie works hard for all the racers !

Thanks for the kind words, Jeremy!

Everybody's first concern is about safety when it comes to suits, so we're frequently asked about the advantages/disadvantages of cowhide and kangaroo, since both Vircos and Rewin offer both hides.

Here's a breakdown of the comparison...

The Vircos cowhide thickness is between 1.2 and 1.4 mm, and the Vircos kangaroo is between .8 and 1.0 mm.

The two are equal in tensile strength and resistance to abrasion, but they do differ slightly in two other categories.

In tear resistance, the cowhide remained strong up to 100 N of pressure, whereas the kangaroo remained strong up to 120 N of pressure.

In the category of resistance to perforation, the cowhide remained strong up to 40 N of pressure (test is performed with a sharp object) and the kangaroo remained strong up to 50 N of pressure.

While Vircos' cowhide race suits are 100% EN 13595 certified (this is a formal process that isn't yet available for kangaroo), the kangaroo leather does perform slightly better in two categories, even with the kangaroo being slightly thinner than the cow.

Awesome results from the WSBK weekend! Cluzel took first in SSP, strengthening his current 2nd place standing in the championship. Also, big congrats to PJ Jacobsen for breaking through and standing on the same podium this weekend in SSP!

How is the "re-"crash ability of these suits? I currently have a Dainese Kangaroo suit but after my first crash (which it definitely saved me from injury) it looked terrible and had to be repaired at a fair expense. Second crash and now it looks absolutely terrible and it not the image I am wanting to show for my sponsors.

So, safety first, yes; but how does the color hold up to a slide? Dainese kangaroo goes grey on the smallest of slides.

We've repaired quite a few kangaroo Dianese suits, so we know exactly what you're talking about. It's going to happen...there's really nothing you can do about it.

However, with our customers, we're here with customer service after the suit purchase to refurbish crashed suits. We not only take tar spots off after a crash, we will recolor suit panels, replace sponsor patches, repair Keprotec, replace exterior armor, etc. We have access to all factory materials from Vircos and Rewin, and we'll get you back out there looking professional once again...

One thing that we should mention is that if you're looking for suit longevity, cowhide is really tough to beat...it simply holds up better over the long haul compared to kangaroo....no matter what the brand.

Mattia Pasini looks over his bike while waiting to do well in Moto2...Mattia's suit is exactly like the kangaroo Vircos suits that our customers purchase!

For a lot of racers, highlighting sponsors is very important. A custom race suit can help highlight sponsors and maintain racer support.

Here are two examples, using the Vircos Valencia Base Pattern, of suits based around a title sponsor...

We're proud to offer the exact same suits to our customers that Vircos and Rewin put on their world-level professional, sponsored riders. Both companies are dedicated to Safety, Performance, Comfort, and Fit, and this dedication shows in the Italian-made finished product!
