Greetings:
I am taking my 1st interstate ride late June to early July starting from Modesto. The 1st leg will start in Las Vegas (Going to trailer the FJR across the desert). The idea is to go through Utah up to Wyoming. The return route is up in the air with a way point somewhere in Idaho. There will be only 2 of us taking the ride. My BMW pal will ride from San Diego to meet me in that gawd awful place, Las Vegas. We are in our 50's, experienced riders.
At this point I don't know of anyone else available to make the trip as I prefer to have 1 or 2 other riders along. Its possible he may have to return earlier to manage his business. If so, I will continue the ride- maybe through Oregon and N. Cal.
I've purchased the "Butler" maps, AAA services,a hydration pack and a Garmin 550. I am looking at some "mesh" gear as my regular leathers might end up fusing my tail to the seat.
Its unlikely that my desire to go through Yellowstone will happen as this is the high season for tourists. Dunno, but I would like to see at least part of it, if possible.
If anyone has taken this route, I would be open to your suggestions on any topic.
Thanks
WW
