Lunch Box
Useful idiot
Greetings, BARFers. I have been testing the K1 system on my FJ-09 for the past month or so.
Through this process, I have had the opportunity to chat with Rock Liu, the founder/owner of Innov. This guy is passionate about motorcycles and his goal is to keep creating better and better camera systems for the riding community. The K1 shows that he is listening to feedback from users of the C3 system, as well as the motorcycle community as a whole.
Check out the website for a full list of features:

Cliffs Notes version: This is a 2 camera system, with a central video recording unit. If wired to a switched power source on the bike, it will automatically turn on and record whenever you start your bike. It will stop recording when you turn off your bike. The unit records to a user-supplied micro SD card (I am using a 64 GB card) and records in segments from 2 to 10 minutes. If the card is full, it will simply loop around and write over the oldest clips. The K1 also has GPS functionality which records location and speed on the video. This can be switched off entirely, or it can be omitted if the rider is over a certain speed. Kind of a cool feature.
The camera units each have several 1/4-20 standard tripod mounting holes. It is up to the user to devise a mounting system which will work best with his or her bike. This is pretty simple and allows for quite a bit of customization.
This post is not designed to be a review, so I will cut it off here. Instead, this is the launch of the demo program. I'm working with a couple of other BARFers (Hoho and airrix) to get these units into the hands of some BARFers. Three demo units are on their way to me now, and should arrive in the next couple of weeks. The first three test users have been selected already, but there is still room on the list for more folks.
Demo Program Overview:
Three demo units will be in rotation. There will be a total of 21 people allowed to participate in the program. Each user will get a demo unit for approximately 2 weeks. At the end of the demo period, the user will have three options:
1. Pass the unit on to the next person on the list, assisting him/her with installation and configuration.
2. Purchase the demo unit at a significantly reduced price and, when a replacement demo unit is received, help the next person on the list install and configure it on his / her bike.
3. Purchase a new unit at a significantly reduced price, uninstall the demo unit and help the next person install and configure it on his/her bike.
In addition to the choice above, each person who participates will write a review of the product in this thread. The idea is to gather as much information as possible in this thread so that people can read a bunch of reviews all in one place.
I will keep the spreadsheet with the list of users and will post the list here so that people know who is testing the cameras. The first three spots on the list are taken, but there are still 18 spots remaining. If you want to get on the list, please PM me the following information:
Full Name
Address
Phone Number
Bike Make, Model and Year
A little bit about your riding - do you commute daily? Play in the hills on the weekends? Take long trips? Tell me a bit about why this K1 system interests you.
Come on, BARF! I look forward to hearing about all of your experiences with the K1 system in the coming weeks and months. :thumbup
(Note: I am not affiliated with Innov at all, but given Rock's passion I wanted to do all I could to help him get the word out about this cool camera system)
