i want to fix a slow leak in a new rear tire

czgheib954

Whats in a title?
What are my option?
Tire place?
Motorcycle shop?
Do it myself?
I'd hate to get New rear tire and would like to explore options, loses 10psi a day, stays at 35psi doesn't go lower

All other issues aside, 35 psi is more than enough for the street. If it loses ten PSI a day, you must have had it at 55 to know this. Way too much.

How many miles on this tire?

Do you know where the leak is coming from?

Share a photo of the tire to see if it's worth saving.

It's completely useless to make specific recommendations unless you know where the leak is coming from. 'Could be the valve. The stem to rim interface. Between the bead and the rim. A small puncture. Figure that out first.

If you recently had it mounted, I'd talk with the place that did it and maybe a remount would be in order. 'Happened to me once and it turned out there was just a bit of "junk" caught between the tire bead and the rim.

OH that would hurt! :party :p

seriously, my thinking exactly. If he had a shop do it, they could check to be sure da valve stem is tight, the tire is fully seated, it's got a clean rim (as you mention), as we've all experienced these. Heck it could even be a bad tire (happened to me once = "PZ2".)

We'll do it live!
Lick the tip of your finger, then drag it across the uncapped valve stem to create a spit bubble across it (no joke!). If the bubble stays flat, the core's good. If it immediately inflates and pops, tighten the core.
