I need a motard

Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There’s 600cc's reaching back for me

Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat
It’s gonna take a super TARD to sweep me off my feet

I need a MOTARD
I'm holding out for a MOTARD 'till the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a MOTARD
I’m holding out for a MOTARD 'till the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soon
And he’s gotta be larger than life....larger than life...

Seriously, I miss having a motard. Anyone out there got something for sale? Must be plated motard or dual-sport, 600cc or higher, preferably newer than 2003, less than 15K miles and reasonably priced (under 6K). HAH. :teeth

lol good one, what do you guys think about buying a straight dirtbike and converting it to sm versus just buying a new sm like the drz or the wrx?

Let me see. First off I have a DRZSM for sale if you interested, I am moving to track only and am in the process of searching out/figuring out my path for the replacement of the DR. I would like to keep the DR but it is not a racebike and that is what I want, hence the sale. The conversion can be expensive, as this is a part of my thinking (by an already set up motard racebike or convert a motocrosser). The conversion would be a little more expensive because the cost of the two bikes are nearly identical but when you buy all the stuff to convert the motocrosser then you are looking at an additional 1500 up to 3000 depending on what you buy. Again if your interested in a lightly used DR 2 years old, a little over 4300 miles, never down, new tires. I have it listed at 4700.00, but lets talk as I am flexable.

Kushcommander, it depends on how much street vs. dirt riding you'll do. A dual sport to supermoto conversion would be a lot easier and less expensive than trying to get a dirt bike up to par. With the new KTMs so street friendly it may almost be a waste of your time to not just by a sm if you'll be doing a lot of street riding.

OTOH, I would understand wanting to turn a Honda 4 stroke (better yet, 2 stroke 500cc) into a supermoto since they are not giving the people what they want: HONDA SUPERMOTO NOW PLZ!!! :burnout

Depends on if you want it to be street legal or not, really.
yes i would like it to be street legal and i would be using it 70% of the time for steet, ive been hearing that the wr250x can keep up with the drz400sm but still i think the drz just has that extra kick that i will need, im still looking around, not sure yet but yes i do agree its smarter to just get a bike with sm setup instead of converting it cuz i dont have an extra 2Gs lol.

also does anyone have a preference on carb'd bikes versus the new fuel injected ones? a friend told me that if i wanted to upgrade the exhaust with a fuel injected bike you might need a new power commander which is an extra200-300$ but with a carb you can just mount and go, is that true?

Those DIIs were ahead of their time, I don't know what year that one is above, but it still looks minty fresh. Never yet heard of a DukeII owner that wasn't totally digging their ride.

Beau, what do you think about the BMW 650 X-moto? Even a year old used model is out of my price range, but a girl can dream!
