I left Sprint

roxy

.....
I recently switched to AT&T after being a Sprint customer for well over a decade. I even paid the Early Termination Fee.

I was fed up with the dropped calls and the non-existent data connection :mad

I also made the transition from Android to iOS and have been very happy with my 5c :)

Is anyone still happy with their Sprint service?

Sprint fell off the wagon awhile back. Their LTE coverage is only in like 11 places in the U.S. and their 4G WIMAX is a joke.

Verizon gets the best coverage and speeds (in my experience), closely followed by AT&T, then T-Mobile.

T-Mobile currently has the best plans. Sprint shouldn't even be an option in the market.

Welcome to iPhone, life is good. :thumbup

My gold iPhone 5S arrived last week and I can't believe how fast and lightweight it is, and the fingerprint unlock feature makes illegal texting & driving so much easier too. :teeth

AT&T used to catch a lot of flack but now they are really good, I've been with them for awhile after switching from Sprint. Though I did go into the Sprint store yesterday to buy a Lightning car charger, I felt the multiple red lights on the Sprint car charger looked cooler than the single white light on the AT&T car charger. :laughing

WHO ARE YOU??? :twofinger

Dropped Sprint here about a quarter ago as well. Currently have AT&T, T-Mobile and Straight Talk (AT&T SIM) in the household and so far, so good. Coverage quality dropped significantly for me at my residence a while ago and I kind of just put up with it, thinking it was a temporary hiccup. Waited, waited, waited and even moved and found that data coverage was bad at the new residence so I decided to make the jump. Another compelling factor was getting tired of not being able to pick up a SIM card to pop in my phone while traveling overseas. I know Sprint/Verizon have dual band phones but the selection has always been laaaaaame. :laughing

As for Android to iOS, my previous work phone was the 4s and it made me feel like I was forced in to a straitjacket and stuck in a padded cell. :loco Really glad that my new company didn't force an iPhone on me.

Where I am at least it's pretty decent now. After they killed off the Wimax testing in San Jose and before they rolled out LTE I basically had no data. Download speeds of .35kpbs pretty much everywhere. I never had any issues with cell signal strength though.

I get 4G now though most places and 3G is actually usable too. I'm only with them because it's cheap.

I used to work for Sprint and have an awesome rate plan for X employees, $50 everything unlimited, however with the poor service I am willing to pay 3x more for Verizon.

Still have it.

Still no complaints.

If/when they try to cancel my SERO account, I'll probably go to the $30 monthly Tmobile plan.

Wow, that's quite a statement to how much better Verizon is than Sprint!

Coverage dropped for me around the time they rolled out LTE, but I thought it would only be temporary.

After nearly 18 months of dealing with the same issue, along with, "We're in the process of upgrading our towers, please be patient...." I got tired of it.

As for the switch to the iPhone, I found myself tinkering too much with my rooted Android. I was never satisfied with any ROM I flashed. :loco

Who knows, maybe I'll jailbreak the 5c :) -- Is it even released for 7.0.3? :confused

I don't care if its unlimited -- if its poor service, its useless :(

You know what, I was in Alameda until recently so we must have experienced the same service deficiency--the timing sounds right too. I went from having tolerable data coverage to almost nada during that timeframe.

I also just root, clean and leave it alone so I don't have the "infinite timesink" problem that many Android users have. :laughing

You're not in the "Android Orphan" world any longer with none or extremely slow updates, welcome to iOS where the free updates happen often as the company actually supports the product. Hi Apple! :thumbup

For example, iOS 7.0.4 update was released yesterday. :teeth

(but if you prefer to Jailbreak, I'd wait to make sure each fast and furious iOS update doesn't disable the Jailbreak)

Funny i got sprint and where I'm staying, I'm the only one who gets reception. In fact, I left verison because I wasn't getting a signal at my apt.

I am planning on going to a prepaid network when my contract expires. My buddy just did that a few months back and cut his bill in half yet kept the unlimited data texting and mins

Since August: dropped calls, and no reliable data all up and down the 101 corridor. Constantly updating PRL and Profile as I move from location to location. Constantly removing battery and restarting phone. All in an effort to get any kind of reception. Visited a Sprint store and they did a diagnostic. Then they did a hard reset, apparently one that was more thorough than one I could do from my phone myself. Still sucks.

Called Sprint to see what my cash out cost would be (three phones), they escalated the call and did some more digging. Sprint is in the middle of a major Bay Area wide tower upgrade effort. As they take one tower off-line to upgrade it, it overloads the adjacent towers. Also, they're moving from one technology to another and they're having issues with compatibility once they bring the upgraded towers back on-line. This seems to square with my experience in that allot of my dropped calls happen during hand offs from one tower to the next.

To cut to the chase, Sprint reduced my bill by $40/month starting last month until January, which is when they say the Bay Area wide upgrade will be complete.

The instances of dropped calls seems to be improving, but data is still spotty at best. I took pictures at IMS. We left the parking lot in San Mateo and I attempted to text two of them to someone sitting in the car with me. We got all the way to Morgan Hill and the texts still hadn't been uploaded.

Same here. Since 1999.

4G LTE with Sprint = non existent.

* I live in Hayward and work in San Mateo*

4G is just fine with Sprint down here. It's everywhere. Of course, since I don't use my iPhone as a replacement for an actual WiFi connection, 4G was never a huge selling point for me. There's plenty other reasons I've always stayed with Sprint. I've never had an issue with dropped calls and have never been outside of a cell signal since roaming has been free with Sprint for years.

Sprint has sucked horseshit for as long as I can remember. It surprises me they even still have customers.

You need to compare companies for your area of coverage. For me, ATT got worse and worse. I couldnt even make a phone call from inside the house. Id have to walk out in the middle of the street. Even that was a crap shot. Switched to sprint few years back, and have been pretty happy with the coverage. Wife has ATT with an Iphone 5. The data is only slightly faster, if at all, compared to my 2 year old galaxy S2 w/sprint.
I shake my head at these posts because what works for one person likely wont work for the other. It doesnt mean the company is a shitbox
