Ever since my big crash a couple years ago, I have not been riding as much as I would like. It took the wind right out of my sails. I used to ride all the time, every chance I got, but after the crash I just didnt really get back into it 100%.
With me owning a business I dont get a chance to ride to work anymore and since where we live there is snow/ice/sand on the ground 4 months of the year, its tough for me to get time to ride.
Last summer the bike started running like crap, super choppy and it became a PITA just to get it warmed up and running...........that was the icing on the cake, I got fed up with it and parked it in storage and just said "f*ck it" There it sat for about a year. I wasnt interested anymore in riding that thing. :mad
A couple months ago a buddy was like "get that thing down here and drop it off, Ill fix it (he owns a bike shop) he took it all apart, valve adjust, carb overhaul, new jet kit (the one that was in there was f*cked up and 2 carbs had cracked diaphragms in them) I figured I would get it running good and sell it.
Well, it was 50 degrees yesterday and clear as a bell, the wife and I fired it up, put 4 gallons of 110 leaded race gas in it and hit the road. 70 miles later I was back in love, :love its back to being smooth and powerful as it should be. I ripped it up a few times and it was kind enough to remind me exactly why I have been riding for almost 25 years :ride :thumbup
Granted where I live I cant ride it in the winter very often, but now that it is running as it should be, the flame has been lit again. :teeth
The bike is fun again, and will see more miles this year.....Im sure of it :thumbup
