Hit and run 5/23

I was on my way home from work yesterday on 680 south near capitol north of McKee splitting 1 and 2 at about 35 mph when #1 opened up and I was about to move over when the car in #2 moved very quickly into me knocking me down and then it took off.
I have not seen my bike as I anded up on my back with a broken left clavacle and two broken ribs.
If anyone knows anything the information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Randy.

Reasons like this I want to buy a helmet cam to wear 100% of the time. I think it is a good investment. So your bike was towed or what?

Damn, man. If the driver didn't know you were there that's one thing, but making a jerky move like that without looking is impatient and aggressive driving. And not stopping to take your share of the responsibility for an incident (whatever that share may be) is just scum. I figure people who behave that way will get what's coming, though, eventually.

Hopefully "uninsured/underinsured" insurance kicks in for you on this right?

Wow Randy... that's awful! I hope someone has some info for you... and if you need any help with anything, let me know... heal up quick!

I can help you get rid of the body if you do end up finding out who it was...I'm just sayin'...

Heal well, and good luck with the search. If I hear of anything that may be useful, you'll be the first to know.

Is the bike covered by Uninsured Motorist insurance? You may not be able to find the idiot that hit you, so that insurance is key. Have you posted on CL for help finding witnesses?

My mother went and saw the bike. Left engine covers, mirror, both turn signals, clutch lever, the windscreen and the gauges are messed up, but everything else looks pretty good.

All cosmetic from the sounds of it. Don't listen to Cincinnatus, he'll try and convince you the crankshaft is bent due to the engine cover damage. :twofinger

I hope you and your bike are back on the road. Getting hit sucks and it's often times hard to get back on the horse, but remember, it's worth getting back on it.

Uninsured won't cover a hit and run cuz ur insurance company cannot determine if the perp had insurance or not since he fled. Comp is your only option really I believe.

Depends on the damage to the engine cover, no? Light scrapes versus crunched ?

If you need help transporting it, let me know.

Wow, I hope you heal quickly and correctly as well! There had to be witnesses. I hope someone got the plate and calls the CHP.
