Hi fellow riders,

To start of a brief introduction of myself: I have been an avid biker through out my adulthood but have been on hiatus from biking for exactly 2 years and 10 months since I moved from India to Bay Area. Before moving here I used to ride a Kawasaki Ninja 650.
Have been craving to get back on saddle or quite sometime, have been trying to convince wifey and calm her nerves down about the speeds and dangers of riding bike here. Finally got lucky in Feb this year and enrolled myself to CMSP. Program was a great experience and on the second day itself went straight to the Sanjose BMW to put down a booking amount for 2020 S1000XR, the bike I have been following since it announcement back in Nov 2019 at EICMA Motorcycle Show. Little did I knew back then that we were about to be hit by a global pandemic. DMV office were shutdown and there was no way for me to get a motorcycle endorsement on my license. And then the call came in on 28th March, that my bike has arrived and I can come to pick it up. With lot of pain in my heart had to eventually delay the plan because of shelter in place orders.
Finally in June the DMV offices opened and took me 3 visits(Visa documentation issues) to finally get the temp receipt. Immediately contacted Sanjose BMW to figure out if they had the bike available, but my misfortune they were out of stock on the color I was asking for but graciously promised to figure out something for me.
Within couple of weeks I got the call that the bike has been figured out and will be delivered in couple of days. Finally the day arrived, went to the showroom for socially distanced delivery. Everything went pretty smoothly and here I am 10 days after the delivery enjoying the rides and bike.
In past few days alone I have done a solo trip to Alice and pillion ride with wifey to Mt. Hamilton.

BARF was recommended by the instructors at CSMP and I must say it's a encyclopedia of really useful riding information. So far I have been the silent reader but hopefully I might be able to contribute too.

Wish to make some good buddies here who I can tag along with for weekend rides.

:newbie enjoy your new bike! We host group rides from the shop when the time is right and it will be a bit socially welcomed to gather. Stop on by sometime so we can drool over your sweet ride and we would love to give you new route options 🤙.

Will love to come over to your shop. Have drooled on it multiple times while washing my cars at your neighbours :teeth

Very much Sir !!! She is a thrill seeker and loves tagging along on winding roads :laughing

Some time in future plan to go for longer rides and hopefully put panniers on the side.

Welcome aboard! I’m in Sunnyvale too! When the whole social distancing is lifted, let’s go riding!
