Halp - Work laptop won't connect to internet

All our our computers, blackberries, xbox360 and iphone connect to the internet through our home connection without any problems.

The only one that won't is my wife's work computer, running Vista Enterprise. It used to connect fine. Then she had a software update at work and now nothing works. Now it doesn't connect by wireless or by cat5. I can connect it to my router and check all the settings, I can even access our networked storage drive, but I can't get out to the intertubes.

Any ideas? Apparently I'm the one that needs to fix this rather than her IT staff.

Sounds like there is a Proxy server setup in the Internet Explorer Check under Tools :thumbup

Ping 127.0.0.1

Ping the default gateway

Ping 4.2.2.2 (an external DNS server)

Ping www.google.com

So, nothing worked, wouldn't connect to the internet, until I deleted our wireless network, then reconnected and re-input the network key.

Shut the computer off. Turned it on and again it wouldn't connect to the internet. Deleted our wireless network, reconnected and re-input the network key, and it works again. WTF? Does this make any kind of sense?
