GPS/Camera mirrors

Both my bikes have the GPS mounted directly in front of me. I don't want to have to look to the side. I want my mirrors to be mirrors.

I agree, on this guys site there is a pic of a sprotbike that has some sort of dash with two screens & switches on it as well.
That seems more viable than the mirrors.
Interesting that this guy can do such things and it looks pretty clean.
Lack of rear sight Mirrors scares me.

I like the idea.

There was a video here a year or so ago of a Fireblade rider who evaded a police helicopter. He had these installed.

Would love to see a price, because my fireblade mirrors suck balls.

Ahh i saw that video too a year ago.
I think those two know each other.

Im not one to lose my mirrors. I like the idea im actually seeing something behind me vs a camera.
It just doesn't seem natural.
What i do like is the dash look in this pic.

94 views with no likes, and you're butthurt at the 94 people for not liking a farkle. :laughing

I wouldn't call it a farkle... and no im not butt hurt.
Perhaps i should of included some pictures.
There are those here who are click challenged or those TLDR monkeys.
Showed it because there can be some innovation that would be more functional to some people who are directionaly challenged.
We have had a few how and where do you mount your gps threads.

I dont need gps myself but to those who direly need it there are options.

It seems like it would be a fairly simple task to run a camera to a phone or tablet and find a sweet mount...of course it might not be so simple. :laughing :dunno

This is a case of something looking cooler than it really is.
But while I'm here, I mounted my Garmin to my bike yesterday and it worked great for hours but then died. Is it a case of the bike cranking out more voltage than a car?

First guess is it's not meant for motos. Cars are pretty insulated from shocks and jolts, let alone mechanical vibrations.

Unless it is meant for bikes, in which case my guess is...try turning it off and back on again?

Those micro USB connectors can't take the motorcycle abuse. I went through 2 Garmin car GPS's where the USB ports failed. I finally bought a motorcycle specific GPS and have had no problems.
They work rain or shine and work with gloves

I searched teh Barfs and didn't find this so I thought id post it.

Not sure how id use this or if I would even like it, but this is pretty neat.

Creative but not for me. I just use my Garmin on a RAM mount and call it a day, I have no idea what the advantage would be even having it in one mirror.

Mirror Integrated: "Oh great, I need to make right here". Turn off GPS. Look in mirror, complete lane change. Turn video back on. Out an additional $500.

GPS unit. "Oh great, I need to make a right here". Look at garmin, look in mirror, keep going. Spend $500 on food and gas.

It is a car unit. Would blow if its fried, I have a ton of addresses stored in that.

More then likely, the USB was not making contact and the GPS was running on the battery. The battery is now depleted. Take it home and charge the battery.

And back up your addresses.

D'oh, I just plugged it into my laptop now and it did power on. Maybe it was simply a dead battery but I check the connections several time yesterday when it stopped working.
Its backed up now also :thumbup

Also check your moto battery pigtail. The are usually fused. Maybe the fuse is blown or you have a bad connection.
I helped a guy troubleshoot his pigtail once. His outlet kept blowing up chargers (one of mine was lost in the process) and it turned out he reversed the polarity at the battery.
