Do more, bitch less.
Wasn't going to create a thread, but retyping or retelling the story for everyone who asks is getting real old. So I am creating something I can share with others.
I was hit by someone failing to yield while taking a left on green. I was traveling in the opposite direction. I didn't have much time to react, just to lock front wheel of my supermotard. She wasn't moving too fast, but hit me almost head-on when I was moving about 30 MPH or so.
*IMPACT*
Wake up in an ambulance, not 100% what happened. Realize I didn't make it home. Feel lots of pain. Trying to remember what I was doing and where I am. Not 100% sure. Delivered to ER unit. Emma makes it there shortly. Cat scan of brain, 6 x-rays of pelvis, knees, legs and feet. Left pelvis doesn't look too good. Cat scan of left pelvis, followed by 2 more x-rays. Resident at the ER thinks I fractured the tip of the pelvis socket. Discharged at 4:35am.
Concussion, some memory loss, hyper-extended both thumbs, severe soreness and tightness in almost all muscles and joints. Lucky and happy to be alive. Was wearing full race leathers with race gauntlets and mid-shin boots. Icon Airframe helmet.
KTM triple-clamp bearing mount separated from truss frame in 2 upper spots completely and folded the forks into the engine, probably saving me a shattered pelvis and/or femurs. I flew first into my handlebars, folding my thumbs backwards, then over the bars and into their windshield, smashing that.
I spared you guys the photo editing... not sure why the ER tag said "Romeo".
