Noob!
Hello Barf,

An opportunity came up to purchase a Ducati MH900e. Bike has around 2700 miles. Clear coat is starting to go. Everything else looks great. Do you think its a good deal at $13,000?

Need your input. Thanks:thumbup:thumbup:thumbup

Are you looking at it because you've always wanted one or as some sort of investment? A Paul Smart 1000 would be a better investment than the Mike Hailwood bike.

It's hard to predict ahead of time which Ducati is going to be in high demand. A 1993 Ducati Superlight is worth more than a 1993 888 SPO Superbike, for example, even though there were a lot more of the former than the latter. And the 1993 and 1994 888 is worth more than the 1994 916 that totally killed the 888 sales. Ducati brought over 200 of the 1994 bikes, sold less than 80 and sent the rest back to Italy to be turned into a slightly different model.

Still, to me $13K sounds a bit high for an MH900e.

RAMPAAAAAAGE!
I've lusted after the MH9 forever. Seen prices go from crazy high, 20K+ to reasonable, 10-12K. If I were buying I would try to get it in the 10-12K range and I wouldn't feel like I got ripped off. I would be buying to ride it though, not to use it as some living room art piece/investment.

$13k isn't a bad price at all. If it's just play money and you're looking for a living room art/collectable bike then go for it, I think they're a pretty cool.

If you plan to ride it, keep in mind it has a 2.2 gallon tank. Good for going to local Starbucks. Also, it's a rare Ducati...parts will be expensive and probably difficult to come by.
