Hey folks...as someone who is related to four people who are active or retired nurses, I'm passing along a request for peeps to give blood. There is a critical shortage because blood drives, which normally require gathering and/or close proximity, have been reduced due to Covid.
I'm signed up to give blood again on New Year's Eve in the afternoon with Red Cross. You get a free antibody test for Covid (and juice and snacks)! I'm AB negative, so I've been requested to give plasma instead of whole blood, which is a little less rough recovery-wise. Whatever you can do helps. It's free...just set aside an hour or so of your day, bring a book, drink plenty of fluid before-hand!
If you have any questions, I can try to answer them here, but the Red Cross website has great info as well. My mother (who is 73, and not retired so that she can help out during Covid) and one of my sisters are both registered nurses trying to save some lives. Help 'em out!
