is it just the perspective the picture was taken from or is the grip on the one on the right really short? what's up with the rubber bands?

PHPD posted this online today - pulled over a stolen car, arrested four occupants and found two loaded firearms, etc.

The short grip is designed can be adapted with a magazine that has an extension that adds another finger groove.

Great job PHPD.

As reluctant as I am to say it around here, they look like kits that someone put together.

polymer80's aka they don't have serial numbers on them. they are made to accept OEM glock parts, though the frame (the part considered a firearm) is not glock. with mag extension (+2 rounds to mag capacity) it would look more normal. the rubberbands are probably because the owner has soft hands as the default texturing on the polymer80's is very good (sharp).

Yes those are polymer80 kits. You can see the "P80" logo on the Glock 17 grip lower portion (left pistol). You complete the machine operations yourself. Until then it's deemed 80% complete and therefore "not a firearm".

They aren't cheaper than buying one particularly. Criminals typically steal them. Seeing this sucks because it means that once again a few assholes are probably going to ruin it for the rest of us and one more nifty thing will be taken away.

Not always. Crooks stealing firearms are stealing what’s there. They aren’t generally targeting specific pistols like a P80, as unless they are stealing from a gun store they would have no idea what’s inside.

There are lots of gun savvy crooks that make P80 pistols from stolen Glock parts and sell them on the street for inflated prices. I’ve heard of them going for up to $1200 on the street.

Sooo basically 2nd hand off roster pistols and illegal street pistols are about the same price. Interdasting

G26 is such a chode of a gun. I prefer the G43 to meet my sub compact needs

interesting replies, thanks for the information. I've never heard of P80's specifically kind of sucks that the guys they arrested were running around with them. Also, thanks to CABilly and dagle for the info and picture with the magazine in place - I should have been able to figure that out but didn't.

What the shit is this...
I see it's been answered already, but yes. Glock G26 or G27. I have one and it's a nice subcompact. Little bit chubby, but so am I. It carries well.
