Racing in a straight line is kinda like masturbation. Sure it's kinda fun to do once in a while, but don't expect anyone to be really impressed no matter how good you are at it.

Hey lotsa folks put down NASCAR, but at least they have to steer a little bit! (to the left anyway) And they don't use a slushbox. But hey, it still looks like fun, knock yourself out.

how the hell are you getting 80psi boost. Are you talking about an 80 shot. 80psi thru a blower is going to blow it apart.

nine

If u have 2 drive a cage
lol
So...errr, he yanked out the Ford PowerStroke and put in a 5.9l Cummins out of a Dodge Ram?

hoax

Smoke me a kipper.
I wonder how many gallons of diesel he burned during that run. And as a sidenote I agree with dgrace about dragracing.

Remember. It is really hard to lean out a diesel. Especially running propane injection. I have seen the new duramax diesels run twin turbos and dual 150-shots with propane injection. The turbines on some of our trucks at work are 10" in diameter. And those are the small ones. 80psi is questionable, but I wouldnt say it is impossible.

700 HP really? or is it 700ft/lb tq?

Completely possible. Remember HIGHEND race preped vehicles can run up to 30-35 PSI, that is what a NORMAL diesel can start out at.... remember Diesels DO NOT have to follow the normal smog rules. So they can run rich!

Check this out. It's my buddy Richard's truck at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He's got a Cummins B5.9 with an excess of 700hp, 80+psi boost, and schools an RX-7.

School an RX-7? What school was that? Must not be the 8.33 @ 163mph from www.shaneracing.com Plus it was running against a non-turbo second gen.

I have nothing against Richard or anyone else but HP is one thing and talent is another. With 700+hp and I would imagine 8 psi not 80 it would do much better than almost 12 seconds. Stock Honda Civics with Turbo II Drag kits are doing 12s and Interga's with Drag II, Vtec controller and maybe a DFI are running like your friend.

I will check with a friend but I think his Ford Lightning is doing the same times with half the power.

There's a big diff between 80 pounds of boost and an 80 shot. Totally different things.
