First time track rider looking for company- Thunderhill 8/15

While the title sounds a bit like a desperate CL add from a lonely man looking for a date (aka escort), I will be doing my first track day at THill 8/15, and would love to meet up with some folks who know the ropes and to just shoot the shit. My buddy had to bail on me, and while I’m sure I’d have an amazing time solo, I’ve learned through the years that Moto-heads are fun folks and I always learn something new. I’ll have a cooler of Red Bull and a pop up for shade. I’ll trade caffeine for advise/company. Either way, I hope to see some BARFers there!

I would just get there early and "park" under one of the two steel structures so that way you'll a few folks closeby that you offer your RedBull cans in return for advice.

Everyone is pretty chill at trackdays, don't be afraid to ask anyone for help with simple things like unloading your bike.

Enjoy THill and the trackday.. it can get a bit addicting...

Whatever that means
Relax as much as you can. You're gonna have a good time. People are pretty chill and friendly at trackdays

And don't forget your mask. And show some class, wear it so your track day provider doesn't need to babysit anyone. So far I haven't been impressed by most folks.

It needs to be worn off the bike and when your within 6' of someone else or when you leave your pit area. At the trackdays I've attended this year some seem to get butt hurt when there reminded of this. I'm not sure if your East or West. On the East side there's flies, millions of them. If you pit down towards TH's maint. yard, beware. They might not be so plentiful at the other end. I had to drive 100 miles with all windows down in 102° hear before the bastards were gone. If your spending the night prepare for mosquito's.

Good point, and one I cannot stress enough. I made the mistake of sleeping without a covering at Thunderhill and I ended up with 80ish mosquito bites, some of which are still bothering me to this day almost two weeks later. The bugs out there are vicious. Day-time isn't too bad, especially with leathers on, but dusk and beyond is open season.

I used a fan blowing over me in the back of my truck to keep the flies away while sleeping. Worked pretty good :thumbup

I’ll be there Friday night for riding Saturday, B group, bright blue and yellow CBR. Not sure what group you’re in but you can go out the first group and they’ll show you the track and lines.
