When the guy tripped on the curb walking backward, the rider should have put the stomp to him immediately. No such thing as a fair fight, it you see an opening, end it, right then

Thoughts on keeping helmet on for protection or is too large and easy for someone to grab and control your head?

Use your helmet for a weapon. Start swinging it. But it all depends. There are some people that you might run into, that unless you have a gun, will whip nearly anyone's ass. I saw a guy a long time ago, try to talk these 3 guys out of fighting him. One jumped in, he knocked him down with a punch, the 2 other guys jumped in (you could tell, these guys were used to fighting as a team/gang) and this one guy, whipped the shit out of all 3 of them, just stanced up like a boxer, and as each guy came in, just fucked them up. He tried to warn them, tried to talk them out of it. But they insisted. It was impressive as fuck. No matter how bad ass you think you are, you just never know who you might run into.

Not as fast as I look.

Why? The fight ended and no one got seriously hurt. There is something wrong with hurting people just for the sake of hurting them, I hope you know.

Well clutch, I look at it different. In the old days, 2 guys get in a fight, they end up buying each other a beer and are usually friends then. Nowadays, with this gangster fuckin' macho thug tough guy thing going on, if someone swings at me over some bullshit, one of us (probably me!), is probably going to get hurt. Seriously. I'm not a badass. Far from it. I don't go looking for any trouble, any shit from anyone. But if it comes down to it, no such thing as a fair fight. Guy comes out of a car swinging at me, and trips and falls, I'm going to stomp him.

That sounds shitty. But, in my mind, if I attack someone (and I've never attacked anyone in 53 years) , and I trip and fall, I fully expect to get my ass stomped, wouldn't be surprised at all. If someone attacks me, and I get the chance, I believe they should he expecting the same.

There are no " friendly" fights any more.

Yup. I wouldn't give the opponent a handle on my face to swing around.
Theres a vid somewhere discussing this topic. I think it was shown to be no go, helmet on.

No, this never happened. Take off your rose tinted glasses.

It's a lot harder to control someone's head than you think. Assuming everyone is of equal size. Shrug your shoulders up to cover the sides of the helmet, and use a lot of head movement to have the slick surface aid you in preventing them from getting a grip. And simultaneously use headbutt attacks. If its worth a new helmet. Haha

I dunno what I'd do if a cager tried to fight me. I'd probably just moto away, over a curb, through cars, if they were too far to touch me or my bike. Or I'd probably bust his face and then all his car windows. Probably depends on my morning

you try that shit in LA you'll either get beat by a car load of thugs or get stabbed or shot.

looking for that youtube vid of two guys fighting on the shoulder then the whole car load jumps in....

So who/what started the fight? Did the cager do something to the rider, or was it the other way around? What's the justification?

AYE YAH!
Old school type fight.

No one is seriously injured, couple of guys burned off some adrenaline and anger, maybe a bloody nose or knot on your head, walk away yelling shit at each other and both will tell a good story to their friends about how "I kicked this guys ass today.

Moto dude definitely held back at the end when he missed his downward haymaker. He could have kept going, but I think honestly, he/they both ran out of steam :laughing

I have sparred several times with my gear on to figure out how I would handle myself. The first thing you do is take your helmet off and use it as a distraction. Never leave it on or your are fuckzored.

Example
Guy is moving in on me. I would throw my helmet at his face and use that as my PIA before attacking. Not a wind up throw, just a simple toss to the face which forces a reaction.

How long until this thread devolves into fighting techniques in Moto gear and what to take off?

NOW!

IMO that is very bad advice.

I don't know, if your opponent is trying to hold on to your helmet, his hand are busy and not protecting his head, leaving himself pretty vulnerable.
