Favorite Bay Area Motorcycle Shops

Taking a pulse on the community on what shops that are currently open for business that fall under your top go-to/favorite places that you would recommend to someone else. Things to consider:

  • Reliable work
  • Reasonable prices
  • Options (do they also sell gear, parts, etc)
  • Location and accessibility
  • Timeliness of work performed
  • Thoroughness and honesty

Please refrain from sharing place you do NOT like - I'm specifically looking for the go-to places that people WANT to go to. I'm personally not likely to use a shop unless it's for something very specific (for example, my bike is currently with Gerry at GP Wheel and Frame), but most other things I prefer to do myself (for a variety of reasons) so I don't have a great feeling for the places people DO like to go to!

I know I will drive from the bay area to Sacramento for service, so if you also fit that category, you may include shops in other areas as long as YOU are based in the bay area (or the shop is).

I'm a big fan of Motowrx in Livermore, I've never left disappointed.

I've had them mount tires, and replace sprockets and perform minor service.

Yes they do sell gear and will order parts for you.

All places that I've used before, that I would gladly patronize again:

Advanced Cycle Service - general maintenance, especially for Ducati!
Santa Clara Cycle Accessories - The Motorcycle Tire Whores!
Evolution Suspension - For all your boinger needs.
GP Frame and Wheel - Straightening your bent shit.

SF Moto Guild - learn how to work on your own bike. You can even hire a tutor to help you through the process. You'll feel confident about the mechanics of your bike and enjoy riding much more.

Tyler Carson at Hayasa Motorbikes in Oakland.
Berkeley Honda Yamaha on Gilman st in Berkeley.

Arlen Ness Motorcycles in Dublin. They have been awsome in motorcycle service and customer service. They also have motorcycle gear with good deals on non Indian branded jackets, helmets etc. There is also a free motorcycle museum upstairs that showcases decades of Arlen Ness customs.

O’Hanlon Motorcycles in SF: Dave does awesome work. Great honest communication and fair price. Work was finished in appropriate time frame expectation. No gear sell though.

HB: what type of work or maintenance did you need done?

Fastline Cycles is closed, moved to TX, which was my favorite all around hands down.

I don't need anything done, it's actually for something I'm planning on writing - I've gotten pretty independent on most things other than suspension, frame, tuning, or actual engine building.

I would also like to ad Rockridge Two Wheels in Oakland.

Meteor Motorbikes in Oakland meets all your criteria except for gear selection. They just fix bikes, don't sell gear. They are super thorough, really give you a lot of detail instead of just nodding their heads and telling you everything is fine. They make sure you understand what's going on especially when the problems are complicated.

Rockridge Twowheels for me. One of the only around that I've found actually know their stuff when it comes to Royal Enfield. Most other shops act scared of a single piston, air cooled bike lol

+1 for meteor. I take my bikes there for maintenance and its been good turn over rate and pricing

There is also LG moto but a bit pricer on service but Lawrence is really thorough on things
